Can you please let us know how many calories are in some basic foods? Foods like different kinds of meats, vegetables and starches and some basic desserts such as ice cream, cake and pie.
I have learned that there is not much point in being obsessed with calorie counting. If you eat good, healthy, wholesome food that sustains your healthy lifestyle, most of the time you don't have to worry about counting calories. In fact, if you have to worry about how many calories are in something you want to eat, it probably doesn't belong in your diet.
