Qualifications: Began teaching classes in Hawaii as a certified fitness instructor. Went on to become a Licensed Massage Therapist and studied the art of Tai Chi and the art of teaching with David Dorian Ross. As a Tai Chi/Chi Kung teacher and teacher trainer, co-founded the Honolulu Tai Chi Academy.
Personal History: I expanded my massage therapy practice in Honolulu to include energy work and guided visualization. My first experience in Tai Chi class felt so much like doing a healing treatment. It felt like a dance of energy, movement, visualization, and breath. I get to combine all the things I love into one activity. Practicing Tai Chi and Chi Kung works me physically, mentally and energetically.
Workout Philosophy: Throughout your day, make it your practice to take five minute breaks to renew and rejuvenate: simply breathing, or stretching or repeating one Chi Kung movement. If you take care of yourself during the day, your whole life - including exercise time - will be easier, more fun, and more rewarding.
Sucess Story: I received a story from a person who couldn't participate in regular exercise due to MS that really touched me. After watching the TV show or video, she was able to go through the gentle movements of Chi Kung and Tai Chi. She can even follow along while sitting in a chair.
