Qualifications: ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor, B.A. in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College, New York City,
I have 20 years of classical ballet training as well as extensive experience in jazz, tap, and modern dance. I received my dance training from Marymount Manhattan College, Ballet Academy East, the Broadway Dance Center, the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts, the University of the Arts, and the Parsons Dance Company summer intensive program. I also worked as a professional tap dancer for five seasons with New York's Peggy Spina Tap Company.
I have been an avid exerciser since I was 14 years old and participated in aerobics and kickboxing classes with my mother throughout high school. Soon after graduating from college, I took my very first barre fitness class and immediately found my calling. It not only transformed my body, but also made me a stronger, more technically-sound ballet dancer. In 2008, I became a nationally certified group exercise instructor with the American Council on Exercise and developed my own style of barre fitness based on my love for the athleticism of ballet.
That same year, I relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, where I performed and taught with the Canyon Concert Ballet Company. Since settling in Littleton, Colorado, I have become well known throughout the Denver region for my energetic barre fitness classes. In August 2010, I was thrilled to realize the dream of opening my own studio.
Workout Philosophy: Exercise is the best form of preventative medicine! In addition to dramatically cutting the risk of disease, people who exercise have more energy, better confidence, and are generally happier. Plus (at least in our studio), exercise is always fun!
Sucess Story: One of our clients (and mother of three), Teresa, lost two clothes sizes and 15 pounds during her first 8 months at The Ballet Physique. Another client named Lisa began taking Ballet Physique classes prior to her wedding. In her words, "My body is changing before my eyes, and my fiance keeps commenting that my butt has risen two inches!"
