Qualifications: Teaches workouts and public classes at Yoga Tree in San Francisco, in addition to leading workshops and retreats internationally. She recently received the Instructor Award in the San Francisco Chronicle's "Top 5 in Yoga for the Bay Area 2009" list.

Personal History: Stephanie is the creator of the Yoga Journal DVD, Yoga for Strength and Toning and she is known for her inspirational teaching style.  Students appreciate Stephanie’s unique ability to infuse her Vinyasa classes with yoga philosophy, conscientious alignment, and heart-felt humor. Her commitment to breath, movement, happiness, and prayer make Stephanie one of the country’s most sought after teachers.

Stephanie resides in San Francisco where she has been a teacher trainer for the past decade. She is indebted to her beloved teacher Sri Dharma Mittra for sharing with her the real heart of the practice. She has also been deeply influenced by the teachings of Iyengar yoga.

Stephanie encourages students to walk the path along with her, hand in hand, attending courageously to their own experience and investigating how their gifts can be offered in service of others. Her down-to-earth, generous and loving classes are living labs for self-discovery, acceptance and truth. There are two requirements for attending Stephanies classes: a desire for positive change and a good sense of humor.

Stephanie is committed to a life of service through teaching and her work with charitable organizations.  She is a founding member of the Board of Directors for Headstand, a national non-profit organization dedicated to integrating Yoga into the curriculum at schools that serve at-risk youth.  She also has an ongoing partnership with City of Hope and participates in their annual Yoga for Hope event.

Stephanie teaches workshops and retreats internationally, is a Yoga Journal Conference presenter, and has been interviewed and profiled by Yoga Journal magazine, YogiTimes magazine, Fox News, Redbook, Spirituality & Health, and InStyle Magazine who named Stephanie as San Francisco’s most sought after yoga class.

Students appreciate Stephanie's unique ability to infuse her rigorous and flowing vinyasa classes with yoga philosophy, technical alignment, and heartfelt humor.
