ok- too many choices here!

I have a HRM and when I work out it gives me a number I like!!
Using this Weight Watchers ActiveLink, well it says the # of points that I used for the day was 2 points, I can't believe that knowing I did a two point workout and was active over 30 minutes.

What is your feedback about body bugg or fitbit?

What do you feel is the MOST accurate to give you feedback about your workouts and activity?

I haven't had the ActiveLink long but I can see me canceling the service... Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be a little bit better today than you were yesterday!

ActiveLink is specifically to Weight Watchers and is fairly new. (so far, not a fan) Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be a little bit better today than you were yesterday!

I "bumped" the other thread for you....it's title is called "fit bit?"  and it is in the same section (equipment and clothing) as this thread.

I have a Fit Bit and a Polar HRM. For workouts, the HRM is far more accurate. But the FB showed me how inactive I was. I like my FB, but I prefer my HRM. It sounds like WW Active Link does the same as FB, but puts out points + values.
If you are doing WW, you take the cals burned from your work out and divide by 80 et voila--activity points! 

 
I was so disappointed with Fit Bit's customer service. My base broke less than a week after having it. I was leaving on a walking vacation the following day. I asked them to mail a new base to my resort, thinking it would take 2 days to get it down to me, as it took 2 days for my Fit Bit to arrive at my house. I did tell them I was very disappointed that their product didn't last a week. They told me they couldn't and my situation was highly unusual. I told them going forward I would not make anymore Fit Bit purchases. So, about 10 days later, I get a plain envelope with a new base. Nothing else was in the envelope, no letter of apology. There was no attempt at customer recovery.
 

Here are some things I've noticed: My original base was from Indonesia, the new one is from Singapore--so maybe my situation wasn't so "highly unusual" after all. Something must have prompted them to change suppliers.
Also, there are numerous threads at the Fit Bit website singing the praises of Fit Bit's customer service, but why do so many people need replacements? I've read about bases not working, Fit Bits not holding charges--so these are obviously made on the cheap. 
 

I also get a bit perturbed when I read on various fora that people have washed their Fit Bits or dropped them in the loo and they get a new Fit Bit, gratis and post haste.  I read about a guy who got a replacement (free) Fit Bit to Melbourne, Australia in 5 days. 


I am sorry, a well-built item should last longer than a week. I think this is a company that just wants to hear positive feedback and shuts out the negative stuff. 
They have a new Fit bit out and I just outside the exchange window. 
I am done. They could release a Fit Bit that could make me look like Candice Swanepoel, and I still wouldn't bite. 

ETA: In case I sound unreasonable, I would have been pleased with their CS if I had my Fit Bit for a while and this happened, but again I had the Fit Bit for 6 days. I think a bigger effort should have been made. The world needs more Marie Curies and fewer Kim Kardashians.

My FitBit only lasted a week too. I bought it from a local retailer and just took it back.

I have the bodybugg and I used that most often.  I like it. My only problem is the subscription. I really don't use the website and it bothers me having to pay for the subcription when the only numbers I need are the ones that I can get from the display adapter.

I am still trying to decide whether or not to renew as my subcription which is up Oct 3rd.

I have a HRM too. It is Sportsline - a Wal Mart brand.  I used to wear this all the time to and I would compare the numbers with my bodybugg.  Now I only put this on when I am doing Cardio Coach workouts.

Different types of exercises generate different numbers.  The bodybugg doesn't score well with weight or sculping exercise.  My HRM numbers come in higher with this type of workouts.

With dance workouts, I always show more of a calorie burn with the bodybugg than the HRM.

With step workouts and kickbox workouts, the numbers come in about the same.

With treadmill workout, the HRM comes in higher than the Bodybugg.

So I mostly figure the real numbers are somewhere in between. Saundra

I'm really not thrilled with the ActiveLink thus far. I do a Leslie Sansone - 3 mile walk which I usually burn 4  - 5 activity points (or around 375 - 425 calories on an HRM) then this AL tells me that I am only using 3 activity points per day????

it has nothing  to do w/food either. So I'm trying this first challenge but I don't know whether i'm keeping my subscription past December.

My Fit bit is not syncing anymore. I've tried the various fixes. I am done with this scammy company and its shoddy products. The world needs more Marie Curies and fewer Kim Kardashians.

Thanks for letting us know Social Worker; at least we can benefit from your bad experience.  Some day - one day - companies will learn how much damage (or benefit) results from word of mouth and will care about how they treat their customers ...

Oh wait, Bumble, it gets better. On Friday, I emailed them to request a new base and I got an email Saturday evening saying my email got lost. They asked me to provide my ticket number and I did, but I haven't heard back from them yet.
Yesterday the clip that holds the FitBit broke, so I just requested a new one. 
I think I am getting the run around because I told them that I was pretty disappointed that their product lasted a week and their CS was poor when I had the original issue. There is no phone or chat support, only email support.
Before I purchase something, I usually check out reviews at multiple sources. I got caught up in all the rave reviews at VF. I went to Amazon over the weekend and the story is much more different there. The reviews there are very mixed, skewing towards negative. The world needs more Marie Curies and fewer Kim Kardashians.

Thanks for this thread this has been most helpful.  I've been looking at getting either a fitbit one or the polar FA20 or FT60.   Since, fitbit is a new company I may wait a little longer if I decide to purchase one.
