The Bar Method or Pure Barre - which one would you choose? - Friday, October 23, 2009 1:19 PM
Hi:

I owned Tracy Effinger (3) dvds.  I just got the Cardio Barre I just love.  The cusing for the first Pure Barre workout wasn't very good because of the lighting but it is a good workout.

I am considering these two I have listed below:

The Bar Method - Bar Method: Change Your Body" and "Bar Method: Accelerated Workout"

Or
Pure Barre: Pershing Square 1 and Square 2

Thank you advance for your help - Helen

I also love CardioBarre and Physique57.  I too had to decide between the BarMethod and the 2 Pure Barres.  I went with BarMethod because I understand it has more upper body work than PB.  Anyway I just the 2 BarMethod workouts and loved them.

PS 1 and PS 2 are easier than PB original, consider that when you choose.

Based on you love of Squeeze and Cardio Barre, consider P57!!!  I really think you may prefer it's faster pace to the PB's or TBM.  And, P57 is more challenging than any of TBM or the Pershing Squares.

Just my thoughts (and I Doooo love TBM and PS's!).

Thank you for your input.  I am not familiar with PS7.  I will have to check that one out as well.

I have done Cardio Barre a couple of times,  sometime  I get confused on the angle of the leg workout.  I wish they would show a demo of the exact angle before the workout.

Thank again for your help,  Helen

Not PS7, P57 (which is shorthand for Physique 57).  Physique 57 is a barre studio and the name of the workouts they produce.  Google their website and you'll be able to check out a short clip.  I think the set of three dvds is around 50 bucks.

... just to add my 2 cents worth ... I haven't tried either of the Bar Method ones so can't comment on them, but I do have both Pershing Sq 2 and Physique 57.  They are both very challenging and I love each of them.

I've only done each of them once but here's the note I made to myself at the time ...

Pershing Sq 2 ... "hard, especially abs; hurt in new places"
Physique 57 .... "tough, on par with Squeeze"

... so I would say you'd enjoy either ... or both lol
