New November Rotations? - Wednesday, November 04, 2009 8:54 AM
Anybody start a new rotation for November?  Mine is consisting of The Bar Method and Cardio with a little extra arm and ab work.  I am not 100% sure what I am doing yet so will post when I have it all written out.

Well, I was just diagnolsed with pre-diabetis and my doctor recommended I lose 15 pounds and watch my sugar intake. This is going to change my rotation, as I was working more toward flexibility.

Sun-Leslie Sansone 5 miles and Julian Michael NMTZ
Monday-2 week turnaround-Strength and Cardio
Tuesday-Bodystrikes or Turbo Jam
Wednesday-A Jari Love dvd and then 1/2 hour cardio on my treadmill.
Thursday-Bar Method, either FF or DS and 1/2 hour cardio on my treadmill.
Friday-rest
Saturday-Tracy Straehls Walking Strand and Ab and ARms with Iliana.

I hope the extra cardio will jump start my motabolism.

Murph,

I read somewhere that interval work and compound strength work make the muscles better at storing energy, thus reducing blood sugar levels faster and positively influencing the body's tendancy for diabetis....

I wish I could stick to a rotation but I usually end up doing cardio one day and weights the next. Hey, that's a rotation! I just never know which workout until i get home

Murph - sounds like an awesome plan!  Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress!  Do you do all of your workouts at one time or break them into sessions such as toning in the morning and cardio in the afternoons?  Just curious as I wish I could fit all that into my morning sessions but I don't have enough time!  I am not a good afternoon exerciser either.  I like getting it all done in the morning!

I have to do everything in the morning. I am up with the hounds at 4:30, in my workout room at 4:45 and then workout until 6:00-6:30. I am going to school for my masters degree two nights a week so I can't work out in the evening. Its a challenge, but I have enjoyed it so far. It helps to have a 12 year old dog with a bladder the size of a raison to get me up in the morning!

Here is what I am doing...

M - Bar Method DS and 20 min Cathe Abs
T - 50-60 min of Cardio (Cathe or Amy Bento)
W - Bar Method FF and 20 min Jari Arms
Th - 50-60 min Cardio (Cathe)
F - Bar Method DS and 20 min Cathe Abs
Sat - 30 min treadmill
Sun - Rest

My cardio's will probably consist of Cathe or Amy Bento.  I may throw in a Jillian or even Ripped 1000.

I find myself in a new rotation, but I didn't really see it coming! I am doing Jari-type endurance workouts and cardio (steady state and interval) and Barre workouts. I will see how long this will last. I usually start missing my heavy weights, but the Barre workouts I have been doing recently are giving me some nice results! And I am lifting weights, just with more reps and less poundage... I think it is the ol' change it up, shock your body idea...

Wow, w.o.w.  So interesting.
I have not even begun to experiment with heavier weights, been pretty much doing less poundage more repetition videos. Have not experimented with Jari work outs yet, but did try my first KCM work out today---the shape of things to come---and I almost died doing it, but I made it to the end.  Will try it again next week and hope it's better

I am like Denise, not great with specific rotations, pretty much choose the video I feel like for the day, but try to strive for a balance between cardio and strength.  I'm a big circuit training fan because you get both in one video.
I am very interested in Barre workouts.  There's a couple of fairly new cardio barre workouts that look interesting to me. Can you use a chair?  I sure hate to spend the money on a barre when I don't even know if I'll like it.
But variety is everything to me, and although I'm not much good at planned rotations, I do like to switch it up regularly.  I'm exploring kettlebells and like I said, also interested in barre workout.
What do you like about them?

Hi RubyRay,

Yes, you can use a chair! You asked why I like Barre workouts? I like them because they work my muscles differently than all of my other workouts. The small pulsing moves are sneaky and eventually become pretty intense. I like the feeling of overloading the muscles, and these workouts do just that in a different way than heavy (or light/high rep) weights do. Every so often, I get the urge to really change things up. I tend to keep cardio in the picture, but I had been doing heavy weights with Cathe all last month (using Meso 2 from STS). I had planned to either repeat Meso 2, or move on to Meso 3 (even heavier weights-- like my barbell would have 65+ pounds on it at times, as it did last time I did Meso 3), but I just felt the need to do something different. I find that I have been craving the feel of endurance workouts and have found a few that I have really been enjoying (including Muscle Def by  KCM, who I have loved for years- you have to try her NYC!). I have also done kettlebell workouts, but those didn't stick (for me). My tried and true workouts are: dance cardio, weight lifting of all sorts, barre workouts, step (more and more), some Pilates, some Yoga, ballet fusion workouts, some Martial Arts workouts (k/b and other slower forms that are used in fusion workouts). Anyway- I ramble... try some barre workouts! They're great!
