Re:Question for Laura - Your recommendations for a barre

Donna D Laura I like my Fluidity barre A LOT (Great gift, Mom! Thanks again!) That said, it's kind of bulky. If you find a need to move it from room-to-room (which you don't anticipate), you'l find it doesn't corner well. And, due to it's one-side construction, you can't simply move to the other side of the barre for things (but you can pretty simply overcome this by facing it front and turning yourself to the side to workout). Donna D~ I guess you are talking about my mention of needing to stand side or reposition the barre? I think this side-view may explain. It the triangular support in front of the barre that means you can only work on one side of the barre. So, Assume you TV is represented by this line __________________. Now, suppose you want to mirror the instructor in, o say, element Ballet. Her barre is set up perpendicular to the tv, like this line: l l * l ** l ** l * l Let those silly astericks repesenting the barre apparatus that prevents that other side from being workable. So, you cannot "mirror" and instructor who uses the barre in a position that is perpendicular to the television screen. Unless you are willing to move the barre, of course. And, um, it can scratch hardwoods if you scoot it without folding it (sad that I know!). You can of course, turn it paralell to the tv and simply forgo mirroring. Although, I rather like sideturned-bare, front-facing-me position for things like, say, Melissa Lowe's Ballet Workout. Does that makes sense? What that what you are asking? HTH, L.

I'm in the Sacramento area and I'm looking to send my Fluidity Bar off to a nice new home. It was used only once and as much as I like the construction and design of the barre, I've realized that I'm never going to use it. I have two of the three videos that came with the barre and I will try and track down the third (I just moved to a new place and still have stuff in boxes). Anyone interested? Roni

Roni Hey Roni Thanks for the update on the barre. Right now I am using an adjustable coat rack that so far has worked fine. I am waiting to receive the 3 dvd in the set so I don't know if the coat rack will work for that one but right now it does work. How much did you want for it? Can it fold up and be put away also. Thanks for posting this, appreciate it. Bopper

Hi Bopper :) I don't want anything for it. It's free to a good home as long as someone picks it up from my place. It's way too big and heavy for shipping. I'm not sure how much it would cost to ship. Yes, it does fold up and can be put out of the way.

Well girls, we don't live near each other so I guess this is a no. How kind of you to offer it to me. Right now what I am using is working but thank you so much.

I'd appreciate any info....Thanks! Hi Marianne, Welcome to the forum! Yes, the walkblaster was discontinued by the manufacturer. You might try the online auction place. A more expensive alternative would be - if you own the full size club step, purchased the slanted risers from Collage. I purchased them last month and I am very pleased with the purchase. It takes the workouts up a notch from the walkblaster. Of course you don't have the colors, but it is a no-brainer to follow the workouts without the colors.

The slanted risers are a great purchase overall! I find them useful for many exercises and routines!
