Time graph for Winsor Pilates Advanced Body Slimming
A short-but-surprisingly-tough program that progressively builds in intensity. It’s an unusually fast-paced workout featuring some of Joseph Pilates’ most challenging movements (e.g. “jack knife,” “rapid-fire scissors kicks” and “the seal”). Mari Winsor’s cuing is clear and precise, but she assumes you’re already familiar with basic Pilates routines. ©2002. DVD has: Region 1.

Winsor Pilates Advanced Body Slimming

Great for the busy person
I loved this workout so much that I wore it off of the tape. So I purchased the DVD. I used it to get back into shape after my first baby, then to meet my weight requirements for the military after having knee surgery and rehabbing to go back to regular duty, and now I will be doing it again to lose weight and maintain it after leaving the military and having my second baby. This program works and it is easy on your knees. Lots of floor work and NO JUMPING and after the beating my knees took for Uncle Sam I appreciate it! - posted by Renee on 5/29/2007
I like Winsor Pilates but not this one
I am a big fan of Winsor Pilates DVDs and they have made a big difference in my life; however, this is not a favorite. I like the idea of a challenging workout that is of 20 minute length - it is much more challenging that "20 Minute Workout". This DVD is not well queued though and a bit sloppy. I much prefer the Accelerated Body Sculpting DVD and if i only really have 20 minutes, the Abs Workout DVD. - posted by Betz on 5/14/2007

Bang for your minute
I was very sceptical about trying any of the Winsor Pilates dvds since I had heard a lot of not so good (to put it nicely) reviews of her workouts. This dvd is fantastic! I really feel and notice a difference! It is short, which makes it easy for me to fit into my scedule, but it is also effective and you get a bang for your minute! I totally recommend this and other Winsor Pilates dvds! - posted by Rebecca on 7/2/2006
Short yet effective!!
I've done a variety of the winsor pilates dvd's and this is one of my favorites. I find many of the others to have too much instruction and move too slowly. Not this one! You move from one move to the next quite quickly and will certainly feel it in your abs and thighs. I highly recommend it! - posted by Marina on 5/6/2006
One of the Best on the Market
This DVD is excellent. Concise, challenging, and fast-paced...no time is wasted here (it is imperative to have prior pilates experience, though). If you only buy one Winsor tape, this is it. After doing this workout for two months 3x a week and NO CARDIO my coworkers wanted to know what I had been doing. My husband was amazed at the subtle yet noticeable changes in my body. You will not be dissapointed! - posted by Anne-Marie on 5/10/2005
Rediscovered Treasure!
I'd used this occasionally when it first came out, but felt I wanted a longer workout. Then I got into cardio and weights, then started mixing in Winsor's Maximum Burn, the 50 minute one, which I love. I decided I need more cardio, though, so 2 days a week I started doing a step tape but added this tape to the beginning of the workout. I LOVE IT. I wouldn't use it as my only pilates tape, but it really does the job, and the teaser series is even more effective, I feel, than in Maximum Burn. This is a great workout. - posted by Peggy W on 3/6/2005
Surprisingly good!
This was one of the exercise videos I got for Christmas. I tried it for the first time today and just have to say- WOW!!! I have to admit, I wasn't that impressed when going through it initially, but now, a few hours later, I'm already sore! And, I've been regularly doing other Pilates tapes. Usually, I wait to review, but I was impressed from the very beginning on this one. I can't wait to try the other Winsor tapes I received!!!! - posted by TC on 12/30/2004
Works For Me
I had been doing the set from the infomercial. After a short period of time, I found the workouts to take so long, just from the instruction. I loved the workout, but not all the talking. So, if you already love the first 20 min workout, I'm sure you'll love this one. In the 20 min of this workout, you are constantly doing one of the exercises. No time for breaks! - posted by Justine on 9/16/2004
Not all its hyped up to be
I bought this video expecting it to really make a difference. I'm not so impressed. I just don't see how you can really get so much from a 20 minute workout. Still, it's a decent video and I try to do it 4-5 times per week. But this is just a warning for those of you who are expecting magic- it's not going to happen. It's a nice addition to a healthy lifestyle but it is not a magic pill. - posted by A.F. on 8/20/2004
Invigorating, Compact Workout!
I bought this workout after I started on the Winsor Pilates series, and got the hang of it in a few weeks. This workout is GREAT - I have always found it hard to stick to one routine, but this one keeps me interested and I look forward to doing it each day, because afterwards I feel refreshed, better about myself, and more toned. I tend to build bulky muscles from high-impact exercises, but this one is not only hard work, but it strengthens and lengthens your muscles as well. I feel I have better posture now, and I can feel myself getting stronger every time I do the workout. I also have the Buns & Thighs workout - and that one is easy to follow, a killer workout, but not so difficult that you can't finish. I do both of these workouts daily when I can, and I feel great. - posted by R. Chiu on 2/25/2004

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
