Certified instructor description: By the inventor of step workouts, it’s probably the most challenging aerobic-interval program ever created. Alternating intense one-minute intervals with slower two-minute segments provides maximum calorie-burning in the minimum time. Gin shows three levels of intensity for each interval (they’re all tough). And she instructs the upcoming move in the previous “resting” segment so you’ll know the pattern and be ready to burn when she cues you to “give it all you’ve got.” The steps aren’t dancy — if you can do a simple “A-step,” you can follow the moves. But it’s the “A step with four flying jacks” combo that gives this video its name — it’s intense! As usual, Gin’s cuing is superb. Drum-based music. ©1997. DVD has: Narrow screen.

Reebok: Intense Moves with Gin Miller

Shockingly Intense - Easy to Follow
A great workout. One of Gin's best. I agree with all the 5 star rated reviews. - posted by Steve on 3/25/2013
Intense it is!
This DVD kicked my butt! it was a challenge. but I made it through. Gin miller is new to me. I'm used to Tamilee Webb's step routine from the 90's. She is an awesome instructor and a powerhouse. I can't wait until I can do the "high impact" option! My buns and legs should transform nicely. - posted by Tonya on 1/7/2013
Surprisingly Tough
I've had this video on the shelf for about a year. I had never tried it out because I didn't think such an old video would pack much of a challenge. Boy was I wrong. This workout was tough! I got one of heck of a workout. I was literally panting and completely out of breath after some of those intervals. It wasn't dreadful as I would expect from such an intense workout. The high intensities were in 1 minute intervals, so I was able to push myself through knowing that recovery was right around the corner. The moves are all very easy to catch on, so there is no time wasted trying to figure out the moves. Highly recommended for anyone that wants a killer workout; definitely an advanced workout. - posted by Sunshine on 11/25/2012
keeps you stepping
This has been my favorite workout for about ten years and I have not found another step workout that I like better. - posted by Michelle on 11/2/2012
I love this workout!
Gin Miller is awesome and this workout is incredibly fun despite being pretty hard! Endorphins are flying! Gin does such a great job of encouraging you at each level for each interval. She makes you feel really proud of yourself no matter what level you are working. Some intervals I could do the advanced, but some I couldn't, but it's not a problem - just one great workout! I believe this is one of my all time favorites (of 100s I have done over the last 25 years). I love how she tells you at the end about your commitment to the challenge and getting stronger, and as you get older, even stronger! - posted by Cheryl on 10/7/2012
"Oldee But Goody"
I had the original VHS tape for this workout (lol) -- and I'm pleased to say it still holds up 15 years later! I was drenched in sweat throughout this workout and I only used 2 risers and stayed with the "base move" most of the time. This is one of Gin's best! - posted by Janice on 9/19/2012
Classic Interval Step!
I've had this since it was first released on VHS -- and purchased the DVD because it is a workout worth the money. It is a great interval workout, shorter in length and less intense than Cathe, but still great. Gin really is one of the best at cueing and she provides so many modifications for experience and fitness level that anyone can do this workout. - posted by Elaine on 7/19/2011
Metabolism Burner!
Great interval training. Gin is easy to follow and she demonstrates a high, medium and low variation of each move. - posted by Kathleen Gabriel on 7/7/2011
Intense Fun!
Gin remains the Queen of step workouts, and this is one of her very best. As with her Short and Sweet interval workout, each segment starts out very simply. In the two-minute active rest periods between high energy bursts, she shows the basic move, then suggests a few ways to make them harder. It's almost sneaky how they turn into super intense one-minute intervals. She's funny and highly motivating. Can't recommend this one highly enough! - posted by Janny on 5/5/2011
Might be an oldie but still THE BEST!!!!
I had this workout awhile back on VHS and it wore out. I finally got it now again. I love doing all cardio interval training. This workout is just amazing. No crazy choreography to learn so anyone can do this. What is so great is you can choose low impact, intermediate or the most advanced or hardest options. So there is always room to grow with this workout. I do mostly the intermediate. My heartrate just stays in my target zone for all of the intervals. I love the counter and the 2 minutes of recovery are just perfect. Trying to work my way up to the advanced or at least mix up the intermediate with the advanced. I would bet that you would still get your heart rate up pretty high doing the low impact versions so if you have knee and joint issues, you can still do this and get a fantastic workout. I wish GIN would have come out with more of these workouts. I do have short and sweet intervals but I still wish that she would have come out with a ton more. This is just great. GET IT!!! - posted by Jill Sherry on 4/14/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
