Time graph for Yoga Stress Relief for Beginners
Filmed on a serene Maui beach at sunset, Suzanne Deason leads you through a very gentle series of relaxing total-body yoga poses. Flowing and soothing, they're all are specifically designed to help revitalize your mind and body as they refresh your spirit. The emphasis is always on calmness and relaxation. In fact, Suzanne warns you not to struggle to "achieve" the perfect yoga position (which, of course, would only add to your stress...). Quiet instrumental music. (c)1998. (25 min.).

Not as stress relieving as it should be
I got this video because I wanted a short routine to do after work when I didn't feel like doing a long workout. I felt the stress relieving ability of this workout was decreased by the amount of talking. I also felt the poses weren't held long enough to be as stress relieving as intended. However, the scenery was beautiful and very calming, the music was relaxing, and the video was very well filmed. - posted by MJ on 2/24/2004
Nice flow
Very relaxing, liked the way one pose flowed into another. Nice and short. Great way to end your day. - posted by Darlene Watson on 10/7/2002
Relaxing
I found this tape to be very relaxing. The moves flow into each other. It is a short video, but very well put together. I recommend it. - posted by Tammy on 9/6/2002
Time Efficient and Effective
This is a nice, short yoga session to de-kink all those tight muscles and just stretch everything out a bit. I often do it in the evening, or after a long walk or other workout. It's short enough so that you can fit it easily into your day. - posted by Sandra on 7/3/2002
A great antidote to a long day at the computer
I don't know how this video would work on emotionalstress. But it does directly target releasing themuscles of the neck and shoulders that tend to tightenup when you sit at a computer all day. And at 17minutes it is quick enough to fit between work andyour evening at home. - posted by Margaret on 6/14/2002
I love this!
I do the AM and PM yoga tapes frequently. I think they are great. The PM yoga really helps me in getting to sleep at night. - posted by erica on 2/8/2001
DVD Format
The three segments, a.m. yoga, p.m. yoga, and stree relief yoga are each available in video. I want to comment on the DVD format used here. This is my first DVD, which I'm playing on the DVD player in my computer. I'm *thrilled* with this format for the ease of jumping to different segments. I can imagine this advantage in other work out "tapes" when they come out in DVD: so much easier than fussing with fast forward on the VCR. Also, this DVD contains an excellent section on the use of props, interviews with the instructor, yoga pose guide, etc. which I believe are not included on the individual tapes. It was a bit of a challenge figureing out the format the first time but worth it. Some written sections have poor contrast making them hard to read. The captions for closed caption readers are easy to read. And it's great to see Living Arts having captioned tapes and this DVD. I hope to see more DVDs. - posted by Mary Louise on 2/1/2001
Very Relaxing
I found this tape to be a wonderfull end to a day. I usually do yoga after some other type of workout. This tape helped me ease all the tension of the day and relax. - posted by Krys on 1/31/2001
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
