Time graph for Kari Anderson's Hot Steps

A fast-paced, club-style workout, it’s a non-stop series of Kari’s all-time favorite combos. This heart-pumping, calorie-burning workout is tons of fun. Kari’s complex/dancy movements are sure to keep you both energized and challenged (and Kari’s cuing is superb, somehow your feet always seem to end up in the right place). Each combo is taught with options for the original pattern; you can do the basic V-step or follow Kari as it advances into a turn, turn, V-step up on the bench (first on one side, then the other, finally on alternating sides ...). Features club-type vocal music. ©2002. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Kari Anderson's Hot Steps

One of My Favorites!
I love, love, love this workout!! Kari Anderson is a fabulous instructor. Her cueing is flawless. I just did this workout yesterday and it was so fun! I was smiling during the workout. But, boy, is it tough aerobicly! Her steps are complex but she teaches them so well and always tells you how leave leave the more complex steps out. I love it so much I want to do it again today! - posted by Micah on 5/14/2009
Really fun...if you can handle it!
This video is really fun because it gets away from the boring step routines you see at fitness clubs. She has all kinds of twists and turns and jumps. My only problem is that I'm recovering from a car accident and didn't exercise for a month, so it's REALLY hard for me. But now I have something to work up to! - posted by Robyn on 1/31/2009
Like Kari not this one
I like Kari Anderson alot but this one frustrates me. She spends a lot of time on the right side and barely practices on the left - starting with the warmup . Even the hold sections are on the right foot. I do like certain parts but switch to the left some of the time she is teaching on the right. - posted by Meg on 9/10/2008
Getting better....
At first I didn't like Kari. She was way to advanced with her choreography with all of her twists and turns. But gradually did learn Body Tech and Push and really liked them. I am hoping that is the same with this workout. So far, there are several spots that I just can't get with all of its turns. I do wish that one of her crew would do an easier version throughout the workout so I don't have to keep stopping and watching it. I get frustrated but I do enjoy the actual routine and I am sure when I finally do catch on, I will really have fun with it. My problem is, I can't remember the whole 4 combos at the end with she puts them all together. I totally forget the first 3 after working on the 4th! Must be age!! - posted by Marsha on 6/18/2008
Not rushing to do again...
For some reason this workout did not get me very excited. I am an advanced stepper but some of the moves just annoyed me. I will try again but definitely not anytime soon. - posted by Christy on 2/1/2008
An old fave
I have a large collection of exercise dvds and have been stepping for 15 years, and i have to say this is one of the best all rounders. The music is brilliant, the moves well cued and Kari has a lovely warm girl next door personality.Def. worth the money, you will keep coming back to this time and time again. - posted by Ann-Marie on 1/14/2008
mixed feelings
I really enjoy this workout - but I haven't done it for awhile. Although I like the workout I felt that it was very one sided. She spent alot of time on the right side - learning or as a holding move. Love Kari though. And the workout is great other than that - posted by meg on 11/28/2007
Go Kari
This is one of the first videos i bought from you and i have to say i think it is one of the best you have. I think it is extreemly well put together, good music brilliant atmosphere, spot on cueing, and a lovely instructress,i just wish Kari would do some more advanced step workouts.Well done youre a star!!! - posted by Ann-Marie on 11/23/2007
Great Combos!
I purchased this along w/two others, it's the best in all areas - combos, pace, and her music is great! I like the choice of a shorter program vs. the entire hour-long sequence. - posted by Judy on 11/3/2007
Great routine
At first I didn't like it because I had a hard time with the moves. After doing it about four times I mastered them and it was fun and I'll never get bored. - posted by Margo on 7/25/2007

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
