Basic Ab Workout for Dummies

Great abs workout
This workout is great! I love that it has easy to follow directions and a quick 10 minute ab blaster option. I just add the 10 minute workout to my other exercise routines...and am already seeing results. - posted by Marybeth on 7/15/2010
Love this DVD
Gay reminds us that we are never too old to get our abs in shape. I don't expect to wear a bikini in my 60's as a result of this workout, but if I find strength in my core so that I can be more stable and have better posture as I age - it is well worth the initial soreness. I really like this DVD - it is reasonable for beginners. - posted by Debbie on 5/8/2010
Love it
This is a great workout because you develop habits on proper form as opposed to going through the motions in a fast way but not feeling it.With this workout you feel it. Work it. - posted by Luz on 12/31/2007
My husband and I Love this workout!
Will teach you proper form, while giving you a challenge. I am seeing results after 2wks. Controlled movements,(not slow)that work every part of your abs. This is really a nice ab workout with a nice flow. - posted by C.M on 11/7/2007

Everyone should know about this DVD!
It's real hard to say I love an ab workout. I love The Firm and did their ab workouts but I never really felt they were effective.I kind of thought maybe I wasn't doing them correctly or something, because I just didn't see the results. I didn't even feel sore.I bought Gay's workout and wow! It is a longer workout than most but I see results which makes it worth it. Gay's guidence makes a big difference. I really can say, I can do a crunch correctly! Gay has helped me get the most out of The Firm Ab workouts too! But this is my favorite! - posted by Becky on 8/19/2004
This is one of the best ab workouts out there...
I do the Firm videos, Karen Voight, Taebo, Chizel It, etc. But if you do this basic, but results effective workout you will see your abdominal area SHRINK. The reason I love this ab workout is because Gay concentrates on FORM. Which is crucial in doing ab work correctly. You dollar is well spent on this ab workout. - posted by Linda, Chicago, IL on 5/6/2004
I liked this one
I like this routine..I am an inter/adv. exerciser.. but..after 3 back surgeries..It makes me keep my form...I will incorporate this dvd with a stability ball, bosu, weighted balls, balance cushions for an added challenge/variety... - posted by on 3/19/2004
Okay but Long and Kinda Boring
I do like the instructor but I find doing 20 reps of 10 different ab exercises a bit much. That's 200 reps! I like to incorporate ab work into my regular workout, ie. like on The Firm tapes where they might have approx 5-10 minutes of ab work. This is almost 30 minutes, which makes it too long to add onto an hour workout (at least for me!) I've also heard that any ab work over 10 minutes at a time is not recommended. I wish she had shortened it to maybe 15 min. I don't know that I'll do it a lot. - posted by Sandra on 6/18/2003
I absolutely love this tape!
I first tried this workout when Shape featured five of the moves from this tape and when I saw results I continued with the tape. I keep seeing results and that's what every woman wants.I just love how the moves are challenging yet fun and easy to do. - posted by Shara Ziegler on 1/31/2003
Great Ab Video
There's nothing fancy with this video. What you get is an effective basic ab workout. I highly recommend it. - posted by Crystal on 12/27/2002

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
