Certified instructor description: Yoga that’s selected, modified and taught to reduce tension and relieve pain. Working in harmony with your body, the clear focus is muscle relaxation (“let the motion soothe you, not strain you”). You’ll start with chair-based poses that minimize stress on your back and legs. Then, it’s a well-designed sequence of classic standing/floor yoga routines. Filmed near a quiet outdoor pool and featuring calm voice-over cuing, the feeling is both comforting and tranquil. ©2002. Healing Yoga for Aches and Pains

Love love love it
I am not a big fan of Yoga because of it's spiritual aspects that it can lead to. But, I do enjoy this one. It is more of a stretching tape. Most days, I am in pain. The first time I tried this I wasn't sure if it would work, but I kept an open mind. The next morning, I felt so much better. I wasn't stiff. I had no pains. This DVD, if you can find it is wonderful! I rented this DVD, but can not find it anywhere online....not even on this site to purchase. I'm still searching. If you ever get your hands on this Yoga DVD/tape, hold on to it for dear life~ This is an excellent exercise tape to do if you have aches and pains. There aren't any difficult bends or stretches. It is all gentle movements. - posted by MJ on 9/18/2012

You can count of this!
I have worn this video out. This presentation nourishes then transforms ones overal feeling of wellness. Inspired, one can then move into consistent freedom from aches and pains. Feeding ones mind and body through movement creates a sure sense of hope that will carry one into each new day. - posted by Linda Carnes on 3/12/2007
pain
After suffering with back, shoulder and neck pain for 25 years, I found this video. All doctors did was to give me pain pills. I have degenerative discs,a spinal fracture, osteoarthritis. I did this video daily and was pain free After about a month. That was 2 years ago. I do it now a few times a week or more if I feel pain coming on. - posted by Dulcy on 4/6/2006
Wonderful - but not my cup of tea
I can see that this is an excellent DVD. The production quality is high and the instructors' voices are soothing. However, the moves are too slow for me since I do not have any pain issues. I am able to do regular yoga, so I won't be keeping this one. But I highly recommend it to a total beginner or someone with pain issues because the instructors are wonderful. They pay close attention to the needs of a person with pain issues and make sure each pose is done carefully. I am impressed with this workout. - posted by Leeya on 1/21/2006
First-time doing DVD
Hello! I really enjoyed the calmness of this video. Also, the moves are more gentle-no downward dogs in this video (not slamming the downward dog for stretching and strengthing, but if you are in pain and/or limited mobility....). I felt so relaxed afterwards. Please try it! - posted by Heather on 9/22/2003
Relaxing Modified Yoga Stretches
I bought this tape because I have a cervical disc herniation and can't do a lot of down dog poses or other strenuous upper body yoga poses. I am able to do power yoga, but I get really tight and swollen in my shoulders. This was a bit too modified for me as an advanced exerciser, but I found it particularly helpful for unwinding and stretching after a stressful day. The modifications to down dog help me get the stretch in my shoulders without the strain. I didn't think it was too spiritual as the other reviewer said. Obviously, she has never been in serious pain. The instructor just gives you positive affirmations to help you deal with your painful situation or injury. I would recommend this for anyone with the type of problems I have. It is basically for anyone (even the most out of shape exercise)to do and a good way to start yoga, or as mentioned above to help with an injury/pain. - posted by Lora on 8/23/2003

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
