Certified instructor description: Nearly a solid hour of well-cued, fast-paced and very creative choreography. Up, over and around your step — this workout will keep you energized with non-stop directional changes, tempo variations and intensity surges (no leisurely warm-up or basic step patterns here). Kristin Kagen never slows down to preview a move. But that’s OK — her clear, cue-ahead style will keep you motivated and on pace (but you’ve got to pay attention…). From innovative “reverse hop straddles” and “teeter totter cha chas” to just-plain-tough two-minute plyometric sprints, this program is guaranteed to burn some fat. ©2003. (60 min.). DVD has: Narrow screen.

Keep it up Kristin!
What an awesome video!! Kristin does some fresh, new choreography that's a blast and a great workout. The quick interval blasts between combinations are a great heart rate shooter. I have no problem with her not being all smiles, everyone has their own style, that's just hers. I just hope she's already working on her next one! - posted by Karen on 1/27/2005
Very Fun and Intense
I have done this video 3 times and really find it fun. It certainly got my heart rate up. The choreography is tricky but by the 3rd try I got the routine down pretty well. The intervals aren't real tough (not as tough as Cathe), but the workout overall is intense. The time flies because the choreography keeps changing. This is definitely a boredom buster and if you like a lot of choreography, this is a great choice. Kristin's cueing is awesome, but she has names for her moves, so it took a little longer to catch on to. I can't wait to do this video again! - posted by Cam on 9/21/2004
lives up to the first one!
I love Step this Way so much that I was actually nervous ordering Kristen's new one. I figured there would be no way she could match the superiority of the original! Luckily, I couldn't have been more wrong! This video is so fun-- it's one of those workouts that a girl can really get into. The moves and the arrangements are so cool! A truly great video that is challenging, unique and makes the time fly by. - posted by darlene on 7/3/2004
Great workout, great instructor
WOW! People really seem to have a love/hate relationship with this video. I'm one of the ones who loved it. I've only done it once (and previewed it once), and I got most of the steps the first time through. The intensity level is high, but about 6 intervals are mixed in with the regular step sequences so you get a good workout but you're never off the intensity chart. I also loved Kristin's first video, and find this very similar. Her cuing is EXCELLENT, she doesn't waste time with idle chitchat, she's a serious instructor, but that's a nice change from some of the "Sorority Barbie" fluffball instructors. The moves are creative and the workout flies by. Highly recommended. - posted by Diane on 4/19/2004
Step this Way 2
I thought this tape was horrible! I would never recommend this tape to anyone. The choreography was extremely hard to follow and the people in the video especially the guy in the back were not likeable at all. I didn't like Kristin either. I don't think anybody was smiling because they just wanted to get this ridiculous "workout" over with... - posted by Jill Lefavi on 3/21/2004
Like it
I really like this one. I have Kristin's first video and like this one as well. Kristin's cueing is great and the routine's are fun - posted by Tammy on 11/25/2003
This one stinks1
This video is the only one I've ever ordered that I would LOVE to be able to return. Kristin Kagen acts like she dislikes her audience and dislikes step aerobics, period. I would not recommend this tape to anyone looking for a motivating instructor and like one of the reviewers below, I felt motion sick from all the turning - that got old in the first five minutes. Kristin needs to smile - maybe then she can be a better, more motivating instructor. A thorough disappointment. - posted by MKM on 10/13/2003
The Original Was Better
I was a little disappointed with this video. I liked the the first Step This Way better. I didn't think the steps flowed as well as they did in her previous video. I liked it better the second and third time I did the work out, but I still think her first one was better. Her cuing didn't seem to be as well. - posted by Deborah on 8/11/2003
Excellent Workout!!
If you are looking for a high intensity, fun, energizing, advanced step workout look no further! Kristen is an excellent instructor and this is a great workout. Just be prepared for advanced choreography and quick moves-- you won't get bored with this one! - posted by Karen on 7/10/2003
The worst of my life
My first CIA video is still one of my favorites(with Seasun Zieger), but this one is very disappointing. K. Kagen's cuing is hard to follow, her attitude is hard to like. She is everything a real instructor is NOT. - posted by szilvia on 7/5/2003

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
