Certified instructor description: Sensuous, non-stop Latin dance moves energized by a motivating, on-stage drummer. You’ll burn fat as you move to a fast-paced variety of different Latin steps — from classic merengue to “salsa funk.” Giselle Roque de Escobar who co-taught the “Zumba” videos, makes it surprisingly easy to follow with her clear cuing and consistent breakdown of each combo. You’ll begin with the basics, then add arms, maybe some turns, a few tempo variations and finally some sexy hip movements (hey, even if you miss a couple steps, the motivating drum beat will carry you through to the next move). You also get bright costumes and a colorful set, which just add to the vitality and excitement. ©2003. DVD has:

    Very Fast Paced.... |
| I ordered this video to add to my dance workout collection....it's good if you want to add variety -I'm a novice dancer so it was a little too fast for me...as well as she talked really fast too...on the positive side it was fun and exciting- it got me moving and excited for the day. - posted by Kathy on 12/30/2012 |

    Caliente!!! |
| I love this DVD much! Giselle brings a real Latin feel into this Latin dance workout and the backup drummer makes me feel as if I am in a family member's house dancing! A great workout and perhaps THE BEST dance workout DVD in the entire Crunch workout! - posted by Pedro on 8/16/2012 |

    Beginners |
| This Salsa video is great for beginners. If you have never danced Salsa before, this is the one for you. If you have done Zumba this video is way too slow. - posted by Laura on 7/20/2012 |

    Returned it |
| It was cute. I am not a dancer, so it was ok for the first time. I did not see myself doing this again, so I returned it. - posted by Faina on 3/29/2012 |

    Easy and Fun |
| I love it as one workout on my routine. It's very easy and everybody can do it. But it can be boring to do it often, so it has to be mixed with other workout dvd for routine workout.... It can be fun to dance with it at least once a month. - posted by Ester on 6/9/2011 |

Crunch Cardio Salsa - Good Workout |
| Very good workout. A little hard to follow all the steps at first, but in time will get easier. - posted by Becky on 2/17/2011 |

Not bad but not for the advanced |
| I'm in my late 20s and I haven't worked out in a long time so I have become a bit out of shape, but I'm in no way new to aerobics and group-fitness classes. I, like many other reviewers, decided to get back into fitness. I thought Giselle transitioned well between combos but overall I felt this routine was a bit easy. It is marked as beginner/intermediate but I would rate it more at the beginner level personally. I didn't break a sweat, but I didn't bounce as much as I could have (I live in a second-floor apartment and so I didn't want to disturb my neighbors at 5:30 am!). Perhaps if I bounced more I would have sweat but in any event I thought the steps were kind of easy and the workout not very intense. I was more tired doing my own toning after watching the video! I am more used to high-energy and intense classes taught on a university campus, where you never stop moving and you leave drenched in sweat! However, I felt that Giselle explained the movements well and guided the audience through the routine. She did not have a lot of empty time (time explaining a move but not actually moving), which is a plus. I felt that she used her 37 minutes well. I also appreciated the fact that this video does not require any equipment. I would recommend this video to people new to aerobics and also for people who don't have much endurance. However, if you are somewhat advanced or exercise regularly, you might find this video too easy and not effective enough. - posted by Shureka on 1/10/2011 |

    So Much Fun!!! |
| I've had this dvd for a handful of years now and it was a stepping stone to a fresh look on fitness. Giselle is so spunky and exciting and the dance moves are easy and lot of fun. The encouragement really makes you feel like a dancer, even if you're not, and most of all you can tend to forget that you're working out. When dancing I can tend to become so engaged in just dancing and having fun that I forget that I'm exercising! Even years after having it I still use it occasionally because after a while it's fun just to go back and revisit the party! haha I'll especially use the dvd when I want to work out but am lacking in energy because not only has my cardiovascular health improved (so it's not as taxing) but it's contagious!
Basically I LOVE THIS DVD AND RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE who wants some spunk in their workout routine!!! :-) - posted by Katie on 1/4/2011 |

    I Really Can Dance! |
| I'm pretty clumsy, but was able to follow along and I'm confident I'll learn the steps I missed on my first workout. This is fun and I worked up a sweat. You really don't realize you are working out. Giselle is beautiful and a great dancer. I like her style. Very nice break from side steps and knee lifts. - posted by Barbara on 6/28/2010 |

You can work up a sweat in 27 minutes! |
| This DVD has basic move combos which will raise your heart rate if you put the energy into it as Giselle demonstrates. The music is exciting and I find Giselle inspiring as she exhibits excellent, graceful form. The only thing I don't like is the repeats of the combos are too short. Once I get into doing one combo, it is time to move on to the next, but I guess that is because they had to fit everything into 27 minutes not including the warm up and cool down. Overall, it is fun, easy and good for a short aerobic workout. - posted by Bernadette on 3/31/2010 |
