Certified instructor description: A high-energy cardio program featuring fast-paced, club-style/hip-hop moves. More like a dance party than a “workout,” you’re sure to burn some fat and have some fun. Featuring eight sets of eight-count choreography, it’s definitely complex but surprisingly do-able (after a little practice …). Lisa calls out the move, counts it down, then adds arm patterns, twists and variations. Finally, she speeds up the tempo and raises the intensity until you’re shakin’ and groovin’ like an MTV dancer. The video ends with a short instructional segment that demonstrates each step and combination. Not recommended for carpeted floors. ©2003. Also titled "Cardio Dance Core." DVD has: Chapter menus, Narrow screen.

Hip Hop Cardio with Lisa Nunziella

Huh?
Ok, I figured as long as you're moving it's a workout right? Well, if you are looking for a challenging (as in footwork) you have come to the right place! I'm sure it would be great workout IF you could catch on to any of the moves she was doing! BOTTOM LINE: I guess is-if I really want to learn it, I'd keep it and keep trying, but it's going back. - posted by Rebecca on 1/7/2012
She's darling, but too complicated to follow!
I want to like Lisa. I want to dance like Lisa. Unfortunately, after 20 years of doing aerobic dance (and being very coordinated), I just can't follow her. Sorry to say that I won't be keeping this one. - posted by Jayne on 10/10/2011
LOVE iT!!!!!
I am not a dancer. When I first viewed the video, I was thinking- I will NEVER get this, but once you practice, and practice. It is a piece of cake. It is a TRUE workout and very fun. I can't wait to but another one. I would highly recommend this video to someone who would like to learn dance moves and exercise at the same time. - posted by Denise on 1/31/2009
Just aight. . .
I have owned this DVD for a few years, and it isn't one of my favorites. I am a dancer, and I find the dancing fine, but it is really short- by the time you finally get the steps, it's over. I also don't like that the warm up and cool down are the same portion just cut and pasted. The back ground dancers are also not great- I would rather see Lisa by herself. I don't know if I would purchase other videos of hers after this one. - posted by Alison on 11/21/2007
WOW
This was great. I never thought i would pick up hip hop that easy and have so much fun, sweating all the while....i recomend this and want to do the others. Lisa really helped me do the moves. - posted by Kimba on 11/3/2007
lots of fun
I have to admit, I don't know much about hip hop, so when I first got the DVD it looked pretty fast and complicated. But I picked up the steps after just a few times. Lisa really cues very well and there is a section which breaks down the steps. This workout is a lot of fun and time goes by fast. You can put more effort into the steps ,once you have learned them, to get a much more intense cardio workout. - posted by Barbara on 9/24/2007

Not for beginners!
I bought several dance-exercise dvd's and this was by far the most complex and difficult. I am six months back into working out and found this to be more than I am ready for-the dance lesson/training style Lisa has in this dvd is for those who are already dance inclined AND in pretty good shape. I shelved this one to try again when I am a little lighter on my feet. - posted by tawna on 9/11/2006
Hello - this is what you need if you want to slim down & have fun!
I have tried so many but this is the first one that shows you how to great music and you have a great time! Trust me, as I have taken off inches that were impossible before. Even my brother loves it! Check it out! - posted by Janis Hope on 7/12/2006
I'm looking and Feel Better! Thank you Lisa!
I have Red Hot Salsa from Lisa too. This is in the same style but Lisa is motivating and a great dancer in Hip Hop Cardio. I picked up the moves, both the tapes have made me a better dancer and I am fitter. I lost weight, my friends noticed! I liked this tape a lot. - posted by Laurie Hirsch on 7/12/2006
Yes, you feel the burn....
What a blast! Never had such a great time doing a great thing for my body. Lisa makes it easy and fun. If you love to move, you will love this one! - posted by Donna Ross on 6/29/2004

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
