Time graph for RopeSport Advanced Jumps Tricks
Two programs. A very challenging jump-rope workout and a second instructional program demonstrating extraordinary jump rope tricks. After a sustained warm-up/stretch, the workout features a varied medley of complex/intricate moves. They range from “half figure eights” and “funky step touches,” to “hand over hand” and “backwards resting moves.” The workout ends with floor toning. The instructional program shows some truly amazing tricks like “double behind the back turns,” “rope throws” and even seated-on-the-floor jumps (“you’ll amaze your friends at parties with this one”). ©2003. RopeSport Advanced Jumps Tricks

fun if that one guy would just shut up!
This workout is really fun and really challenging to someone like me who is not so coordinated with a jump rope at 6 in the morning! I thought I would be totally winded after so much jumping, even though I would consider myself an advanced exerciser, but the main instructor takes a lot of breaks. I actually spent many of those breaks jumping rope more, trying to practice the moves I messed up on. I would give this video 5 stars EXCEPT the one male trainer (who was on mtv the real world? what? how is he qualified??) is soooooo obnoxious. I just wanted to slap him. Fortunately he gets totally winded after about 20 minutes and quiets down for a while. I think the production crew could have saved money on hiring d-list celebrities and just went with the main instructor who is very positive and pleasant and waaay more coordinated than me! - posted by annie g on 9/3/2009

Fun!
I agree with the previous reviewer, Kellie. Rope jumping is a fun, challenging workout that helps build cardiovascular endurance. It's often overlooked when someone is looking for a good workout. Rope jumping can improve muscle tone, agility, coordination and timing. It's convient and can be lower or higher impact, depending on how vigorously you jump. I own Rope Sport Basic, Intermediate and Advanced workouts and they're fun, creative and I like the energy on the set (thankfully, it's not annoying). It's also pretty convient---don't need alot of space ( might be an issue for those with low ceilings). I added rope jumping to my other cardio workouts since it's good to cross train your aerobics----you'll definitely burn fat and calories! - posted by Holly on 7/13/2005
Really fun and challenging overall
I really love the things you can do with a jump rope! The workout itself is good-- hard, but not super hard-- but what's great about this DVD are all the extra jumps you're taught on the bonus DVD. I got totally hooked on learning the advanced jumps, which are mentally challenging and require focus, practice and coordination. I've been working on some of the advanced jumping techniques for about six months, and although I was already very fit before, my fitness level has increased dramatically since I started jumping. Jumping is both an aerobic and an anaerobic activity, depending on how long and how hard you go. And you can take the rope anywhere! I really recommend this DVD if you are looking for something new that won't bore you within a month. - posted by Kellie W. on 12/23/2004

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
