Certified instructor description: A non-stop series of compound exercises demonstrated by a superb instructor ... and some very “cut” exercisers. You’ll get maximum results in minimum time by working multiple muscle groups at once (e.g. lunges with bicep rows, squats with “around the world” deltoid work). With no breaks between sets, your heart rate also stays elevated (Jari even includes a 30-second countdown timer at the end of each track to help you finish by “giving it all you’ve got”). The variety is amazing — pulses, isometrics, balance training, tempo variations, stationary and moving exercises plus lots of weight-room-style, body-sculpting classics. Requires 5 to 20 lb. dumbbells; a step is optional. ©2009. DVD has: 2 premixes (49 & 51 min. alternate workouts).

Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped

This can get you stripper's legs
I've been working out to Jari's videos 3 times a week for almost a year now and I have definition in my arms and legs that I've never had before. Did this whole DVD on Friday and burned 763 calories. Sometimes I really want to stop and take a break, but she makes me find the strength to go on. When I am done and see how many calories I've burned, I'm so glad I kept going. If I could be disciplined enough to stick to my diet on the weekends, I have no doubt that my results would be even better! - posted by Loretta on 3/11/2013
LOVE THIS
I have four of Jari's "older" workouts and this one was a nice change of pace. It is nicely designed, and I feel totally worked out when I am through with either a 30 minute segment, or the entire dvd. I find myself smiling throughout, even though my legs are on fire - love the countdown clock at the end of each segment, and the set is motivating to me. Some say it is too dark, but it isn't on my tv. I plan on buying all of her dvd's. This is a TRUE workout - so worth the purchase. - posted by April on 1/4/2013
Fun
A very well-designed program. Total body, but mostly for legs, back, biceps, and shoulders. Also gives a good cardio benefit with zero bouncing or jumping--all from squats and lunges. Good alternating of upper body and legs to rest muscle groups without ever stopping, and well thought-out compound exercises. Jari does high reps better than anyone. Even with ridiculously light weights, the high reps push until you think you can't continue, and then the 30-second clock shows up on the screen and you push through (or not). Jari's voice is easy to listen to and the music is upbeat. Yes, the chitchat in this one is annoying (and the comment about one of the ladies not being married is even offensive to this childless city girl), but it's only in the first 10 minutes--after that it becomes relevant to the program and not annoying. The futuristic cavewoman outfits make me smile, and 75 minutes flies by. - posted by Sarah on 11/5/2012
Looking for body changing routines?
Jari will get you in your best shape ever. Simple to follow but very challenging to keep up. I am 55 yrs old & a fitness junkie since I was 15. Jari's workouts have "changed my body". I believe I am in better shape now then when I was in my 20's & 30's. You want results you have to try all of Jari's workouts. - posted by Jane on 9/15/2012
Get results with this workout
This is an excellent workout. I have seveal workouts by Jari, and this is my favorite. I first tried Jari Love because so many people said they actually see results with her workouts- and I have to say I have to in just a few short months. There are actually 2 30 minute workouts, and abs- so it totals about a 45 minute workout total, including the warm-up. The warmup and abs are the same, but the workouts are different and work different muscles. All of the moves are compound. I use 8 lb and 5 lb weights- which is what Jari uses. She is motivating, the workout goes quickly, and there is no dread factor. I am an intermediate-advanced exerciser in my 40's. You won't regret purchasing this video. - posted by Joanne on 12/18/2011
5 STARS FOR THE WORKOUT ALONE, 3 STARS FOR THE PEAVES
And so it averages for me to be a 4 Star. For the workout alone, I am giving this 5 stars. It is tough, very tough. Every muscle is worked out here with lots of reps until exhaustion. You will feel this one for sure. I love all of the squats and lunges with upper body work. I love compound exercises. Your heart rate will be up the whole time so you get cardio also. How great is that? I love the balance work as well as the triceps and planks series. WHAT I DID NOT LIKE : I think Jari was trying to not be so wooden in this workout like others, and went overboard with her chattiness and really dumb remarks. I also did not like her picking on the girl that sweats, the other about kids and teenagers, and her forgetting her counting. I didn't even notice that Mark was even in the workout until she mentioned him as the set was SO DARK. I don't mind the leather outfit. If I can do this workout and eventually look like her in it, GREAT! HAHA It motivates me so the outfits don't bother me because the workout is so great. I just could not stand her chattiness and comments. MY ADVICE TO JARI is to re-release this workout with a brighter set so you can see better, change the outfits as I know alot fo people don't like them, smile and have fun but cut out the ridiculous chatting and remarks. Then I would give this a million stars as the WORKOUT ITSELF IS SUPERB. I will keep it in my rotation only because I love the workout so much. Jari really is the best out there. I have all of her workouts except Lean Machine and Body Rock and they are ALL FANTASTIC. YOu will get results with her so stick with her workouts. - posted by J on 12/15/2011
great toning, favorite workout!!
I have to say that I LOVE this workout. It is challenging, you work your whole body and the results are worth it. She is a great instructor and I like her energy. For some people she can look ditsy but I disagree. Sometimes a little humor is what we need to endure the workouts. They are hard!! If you are ready to sweat and get in shape, get this video. - posted by sarah kuiper on 9/11/2011
Challenging and fun!
Excellent video! I'm a medical professional and would definitely recommend this video. I'm a runner and on my days "off", I do this video for 30min and I sweat buckets; it's challenging and fun. I've lost 25lbs. Jari is entertaining, engaging, and the music is awesome! - posted by Maria on 8/28/2011
not sure how often I'll use
I'm a Cathe diehard but wanted to try another instructor as I am running out of Cathe tapes. After much research I decided to get Jari Love. To be honest, I'm not sure how often I'll use it. It definitely is a hard work out - you will be sweating after the warm up! (and I'm in shape) It is just very boring and tedious and very repetitive. Back to Cathe. - posted by Randi on 7/21/2011
Excellent work-out
I just did this DVD this morning and since I like to go back and read the latest reviews sometimes, I thought I’d do that today. I cannot believe anyone would not like this work-out!! Who cares about the outfits – I cannot understand for the life of me people who complain about this – it’s about the work-out isn’t it? As for the set I don’t see one thing wrong with it – Mark could be a bit more visible, but you can see everyone else perfectly. This DVD has been in my regular rotation since I bought it when it was first released and I could not be happier with the results I am getting. This is a very CHALLENGING, enjoyable and anything-but-boring work-out - I just LOVE it. My heart-rate is way up every time and I’m just dripping with sweat when I’m finished. The only negative thing I have to say is the counting – there is an uneven number of reps on each side some of the time, but my way around that is every other time I do the work-out I start on the right and then next time on the left. I LOVE Jari & I highly recommend this DVD. - posted by Diane on 3/31/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
