Time graph for Leslie Sansone: 5K with a Twist
An in-home walking workout that features two-minute, higher-intensity “power bursts.” The bursts include moves like jogging, kicking and skipping — higher-impact versions of the basic steps you already know. The bursts are designed to maximize fat burning effectiveness while helping to simulate the feel of an actual 5K outdoor race (about 3.1 miles). Leslie also boosts the intensity of her usual low-impact walking steps by using faster music and incorporating lots of arm motions. Throughout the workout, you’ll be motivated by Leslie’s chatty commentary and an on-screen countdown timer. ©2009. DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option.

Leslie Sansone: 5K with a Twist

LOVE IT
I have 9 different walking videos from Leslie Sansone. I like them all but this one I love. I get a complete work out in five fast miles and it is great. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys her other videos. Have dropped over 150 pounds in the past 18 months so it is a great indoor workout routine and I can do as little or as much walking as I want no matter what the weather. - posted by Sandy on 7/17/2010
Just what I needed and wanted
I was advised by my doctor to add some aerobics to my routines such as weights and yoga. I liked this one because it gave me a countdown for the miles so I can choose a particular mile at the end of my regular routines. Each mile has a short higher intensity boost. I like Leslie's cueing so I don't have to think about it. I think she could have improved this with some explanations about what to do if you can't do the higher intensity. I know what to do from her others that I own. She is encouraging. I also like to use the whole tape on days that I designate as only aerobics. I am an older (in my 60's), but experienced exerciser. - posted by Colette on 7/10/2010
Leslie Never Disappoints
I have been exercising with Leslie for years. I feel everytime I put on her DVD that she is with me in the room encouraging me to keep moving. It is a great way to loose weight or maintain your weight loss. Thanks, Leslie - posted by Lelah on 7/1/2010
Short & Powerful
I own & use several LS DVDs, and recently added this one to my collection. It's fast-paced and feels more intense than some of the 5-mile walks (though on par with the 4-milers) to me. Each of the three miles ends with a 2-minute jog. Leslie gives a few short pep talks that make me smile each time, in spite of myself. :-). This is now one of my favorites. (Other favorite instructors include Ellen Barrett, Petra Kolber, Jari Love, and Jennifer Galardi, among others.) - posted by Kim on 6/29/2010
Enjoyable fast paced walk!
I don't understand the low ratings because personally, I enjoyed the walking workout! Time flies with this workout. The walk is fun and fast paced. The music is good. I like the 2 minute jogging intervals. - posted by Rachel on 6/21/2010
Love Leslie
I love her workouts and I only purchase hers. Thank you. - posted by Dorie on 5/14/2010
Great Workout for Getting Back After An Injury
I have herniated disks in my neck due to a car accident, had real trouble with them, and had to have a procedure. This kept me out of exercise for awhile. This workout is fabulous for starting back into it for me. Just long enough, with boosted walking, got my heart rate up, and how can you not love Leslie and her personality? She is fantastic. It is like walking with a friend. No way to do this workout wrong. The steps are easy and it's great when you can just workout and not have to think so much. I recommend this one especially if you are in my position and need to start back slowly after injury or illness. - posted by Jill Sherry on 4/2/2010
Slim and Sleek
My ladies love this video with the Pilates and the new moves. Wish she would do more. We have 15 videos of Leslie's that we use so we have a lot of variety regardless of whether they are new or older CD's. I started this exercise class 4 years ago and it is by word of mouth as it is a Ministry for Women that is done at church in the Fellowship Hall. I haven't had anyone come who did not like her videos. Sometime there are as many as 30 ladies. We have a great time exercising and socializing. We are a support group for each other. - posted by Dawn on 3/19/2010
Love Leslie Sanaone
I have an exercise group that loves Leslie and have 16 videos that we use. Meet 4 days a week at the church. It's a Ministry for Women. We have a great time exercising and socializing. - posted by Dawn on 3/19/2010
I really like this
I like Leslie's workouts when she is alone rather than with a group. The boosted moves are good, really notice the difference. I'm really not a gung-ho exercise enthusiast. I am 67 years old and this is great for me. It is long enough to make you feel like you've actually done something but not so difficult that it makes you want to quit. - posted by Roberta on 3/19/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
