Time graph for Petra Kolber: Just Dance
A fluid series of not-too-complicated dance combos led by a superb instructor. It’s perfect for “non-dancers” — Petra always starts with a basic movement, then smoothly blends in the more challenging patterns. For example, a simple march may end up as a “six-count mambo with a rock step and a quick step ball change” (varied and fun, but not nearly as complex as it sounds). The dance moves range from cha chas and chassés to hip circles and body waves (with lots of optional pivots and turns). Petra’s smiling face, fitness-style cuing and encouraging attitude make it all very doable (“come on, just dance!”). ©2009.

Petra Kolber: Just Dance

Fast but Fun
She's enjoyable to work out with but I'm not familiar with many of the steps ,,, wish she had a beginners dvd! Still she's pleasant to try and follow. Good Workout! - posted by Maia on 7/1/2010
Fun workout!
This dance workout is just delightful! I have such a good time dancing with Petra that I don't even realize that I've broken a sweat and my heart-rate is up. The cues are excellent, as always with this instructor. Highly recommended! - posted by Lara on 6/24/2010
Inspiring
This workout video helps keep interest and motivation level high, it doesn't feel like a workout because it is just so much fun!!!! - posted by Ruth on 6/24/2010
exercising can be fun
I did not know exercising could be so fun, I felt like I was at the club dancing instead of working out...the routine was easy to follow & she did a great job breaking things down - I enjoyed this so much I'm thinking about making it part of my regular workout routine. - posted by Datno on 6/16/2010
Challenging and Fun
I have to admit that I found the choreography really confusing at times. I've had another of Petra's dance DVDs in the past, and I ended up giving it away because I couldn't follow it. I think, for me, the steps are introduced a little quickly. That being said, I think that it will get easier the more I do it, and when I finally have the moves down I'll be so glad she doesn't over-explain everything. I still have to rate this one 5 stars, since I was smiling the whole time, even when I was lost. Petra Kolber is a fun instructor, making jokes and not taking herself too seriously. - posted by Jamie on 6/16/2010
Wanted to like it
I really wanted to like this dvd. Petra Kolber is adorable, personable, and enthusiastic. She seems like such a sweet and low key instructor. I just could not get these steps down. I usually do not have any trouble picking up choreography, but I just could not do some of the steps. I felt like I was focusing too much on learning dance steps than in getting a workout. - posted by Mary Anne on 6/15/2010
Love, love, love this video!
I got this video based mostly on the reviews from other users on this site. This is my first video with Petra and I just adored her from the start. Great cueing, fun moves, fabulous energy. I'm not a dancer, but love dancing, so have had great fun with these moves. It took me a couple of times to get through the full video (maybe I'm not as intermediate as I had thought...), but was always well worth it. Even though I'm still being challenged, I don't even realize I'm "working out" until we get to the cool-down. So glad I listened to the other reviewers! - posted by Alyson on 5/26/2010
Glad I tried it!
Dance-wise, I am a total dork, but I like Petra so much that I decided to give this workout a whirl. Not being familiar with dance steps and what some of the cues meant, it took a few tries for me to really get the hang of it. And the reason that I didn't stop trying is because it is a fun workout and that makes you happy. Petra has a lot of warmth and humor in her presentation, and that makes all the difference. It's a very nice moderate workout that is fun, and I find myself reaching for it every week. And seriously, if I can get the hang of it, anyone can do it! - posted by jaygee on 4/29/2010
No Disappointment with this Video
As, usual Petra Kolber does not disappoint. This video provides a great workout that is interesting and, thanks to Petra's clear cuing, very "do-able". - posted by Mary on 4/23/2010
Good, really dancy!
I'm not a dancer at all, but wanted to try something different with my workouts. This is my first Petra dvd, and she's the cutest thing ever. She's got great cuing and makes the exercise very fun. I want to try more of her stuff now. This dvd was hard for me to follow. Took me a good three times through to be getting most of it, but I'm sticking with her because she's great! Not the most intense workout ever, but well worth it. - posted by Emily on 4/22/2010
