Certified instructor description: A super-intense, precisely-sequenced aero/tone interval program led by a superb instructor. It's jam-packed with an amazing variety of diverse movements (e.g. Michelle never repeats more than four toning reps without tweaking something — a direction, position, an add-on...). Like climbing a mountain, each five-minute segment builds in intensity. You'll start with toning-focused "basecamp" and "ascent" intervals. Then you'll accelerate into aerobics with a challenging "climb" ("you'll feel uncomfortable here"). But you're not done yet; it all ends with a cardio "peak" — explosive, high-impact plyometrics. Features smooth transitions with high-energy, cue-ahead instruction (plus an on-screen countdown timer). Requires two sets of dumbbells (e.g. 5 and 20 lb.). ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Michelle Dozois' Peak 10 More Cardio Strength

Tougher Than Insanity!
No joke! I've done Insanity, TurboFire and Les Mills Pump and this workout was hard! I got my 10 and 15lbers out and I hit pause and went for my 5's! The choreography is tough but once you learn it I think you will become more fluid. Michelle is my new favorite trainer. I use to be a cardio queen but peak 10 cardio and strength gives you the best of both worlds! Can't wait to purchase another Michelle Dozois video! - posted by Beth on 6/15/2013

Tough but effective. Nice pace. - posted by Wendy on 5/19/2013
Peak 10 workouts are the BEST!
I've been working out my entire life. I've run marathons and done every kind of exercise out there and nothing has gotten me in better shape than Peak 10! I love Michelle. She's an awesome instructor. If you are serious about fitness this is the only workout you needn't - posted by Jennefer on 5/11/2013
Awesome
This is my third Peak 10 DVD. They are hands down the best workout videos. High energy, fun, motivating and awesome workouts. - posted by Hillary on 5/9/2013
Awesome if you really want to sweat!
She is a Hardcore trainer. I love the peak 10 series. I,ve been working out for 26 years and am always looking for something hard and interesting. This is all that and more. - posted by LIsa on 3/22/2013
Gonna get skinny doing this one
A good mix of cardio and sculpting, difficult, yet a good challenge. I am a Michelle Dozois fan, so whatever she puts out, I enjoy. This is a good, tough workout that leaves me feeling fit. Well-cued and easy to follow. I use lighter weights than she recommends, but that's probably because I'm 66 and keep it to about 10 pounds. For the younger crowd, go for the big ones! - posted by Mary on 2/21/2013
Too complicated
I have the original Peak 10 and I LOVE it, so I thought another one would offer some variety, but the moves are way too complicated. The transitions are not smooth. I'm relatively coordinated, but I found the choreography too complex. I don't want to think hard while it working out! - posted by Tammy on 2/21/2013
Fantastic workout
Michelle has been very consistent with all of her videos. They are fun, challenging, and I definitely sweat. She has some moves I have never seen before and I love to mix it up. This is NOT a boring workout and you WILL burn a ton of calories. - posted by Georgia on 2/14/2013
Love Peak 10
This is my 3rd Peak 10 DVD. They are are really challenging and fun. I have been exercising for years (I'm 58) and these definitely give me a great workout! - posted by Karin on 1/31/2013
Cuing is awful otherwise would be a 5
I would give this workout a 5 but her cuing is way too fast and non-descriptive. I had a very hard time following what came next. Some moves I had never heard of and were hard to figure out how to do. - posted by Stacie on 1/3/2013

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Aerobics & Toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
