AM and PM Yoga

After taking a beginner's yoga course for one semester and enjoying the great, refreshed feeling afterwards, I was very inspired to borrow this box set from my sister. I felt the PM didn't hold well for beginners. There were certain poses that I never was introduced to in my yoga course and I felt them difficult to do, although I admittedly still got a nice stretch with the other stretches before bed (and woke up feeling great!). I wouldn't recommend the PM for beginners, though. Rodney's AM session, however, is more along the line of beginners. All poses were feasible to execute and definitely relieved quite a few tight muscles, especially in the lower back. Too bad you can't just buy Rodney's portion! I got rid of the the AM/PM yoga tapes after a while (my sister, who's never taken a yoga class or course didn't feel they were much for beginners either so she allowed me to get rid of them). I am actually considering buying Rodney's other DVDs since I am now a fan! - posted by Ana on 9/3/2007

Calming, Basic Yoga Routine, Just Too Short
I purchased this DVD because of all of the hype surrounding it (something like over 5 million sold I believe), but I was actually a little disappointed in it. Since it was A.M./P.M. yoga I wasnt expecting anything to complex, but I felt like the poses were not held long enough to achieve a good stretch (more so in the A.M. routine). I have been doing yoga for years now, and I have done numerous short workouts (20 minutes), and I always leave feeling lengthened and centered, but the poses were only held for a few seconds each (at least it felt that way), so I completed the workouts still feeling tense. Overall, this is not a good DVD for relaxation or stretch. I would recommend Yoga Zone's Stress Release instead. Those workouts are short and you walk away feeling like you actually did yoga. - posted by May on 4/20/2007
Relaxing
I loved this DVD! This video was the stepping stone that got me into yoga! The PM is very relaxing. I use it some nights right before bed and I am out like a light! Also very good for a sore back. Rodney is very good with a soothing voice. - posted by Katie on 3/13/2007
Great yoga
I have had this on VHS for years and I still use it. It is great for beginners. Even though I've been practicing yoga for awhile I occassionally come back to both of these sessions. This video is what sparked my interest in yoga. PM yoga is great for flexability. Sometimes I use either of these if I'm not feeling well but still want to do some yoga and don't want to do sun salutations. - posted by Tammy on 1/4/2007
NOT a fan
i just felt it was very basic...and especially for the AM video I would want something that helps wake me up not put me to sleep...I also felt it was too short - posted by on 2/8/2006
A wonderful relaxing yoga-body stretch
Rodney Yee is the best Yoga instructor (as far as I'm concerned) and the AM Yoga is my favorite. It's gentle yet connects you to your inner-self and gives you a full deep body stretch to start your day. I also love to use it at night to relieve tension. Rodney's voice is very soothing and calming. I highly recommend it for beginners - a great way to get introduced to Yoga. - posted by Nathalie Girard on 5/4/2005
Rodney's a hotty
I like this Yoga video. It's very relaxing (a little too relaxing, sometimes, I almost fall asleep), but it has a nice scenery (filmed on the beach in Hawaii with hottie, Rodney Yi). I feel like I'm getting a good stretch at the start of the day, though I'm not sure, I really understand Yoga from this. - posted by Jenny in MN on 10/20/2004

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
