Certified instructor description:
No gimmicks and no equipment, this is classic “Winsor Pilates” — a smooth sequence of back-to-the-basics exercises (the ones that made Mari famous … and originally attracted her Hollywood celebrity clientele). Done properly, Pilates is sure to create a lean, strong body. To achieve that goal, each move is carefully demonstrated — at two fitness levels — by three exercisers. Mari walks among them, offering hands-on instruction and easy-to-follow cuing (“see how her back is starting to bend …”). Both workouts feature a carefully designed series of Joseph Pilates' core-focused movements (the shorter program isn't “rushed;” it simply has fewer reps and fewer moves). ©2008.
