10 Minute Solution: Hot Body Boot Camp

Good if you want a quick workout
This is a very fast paced workout which is great if you're short on time. Some of the toning sections don't feel very effective. The cardio is probably the most advanced section, while the toning was more intermediate. I like that you can pick and choose to create your own workout though. This is not my favorite, but will keep for when I'm looking for a 20-30min. workout. - posted by Sarah on 12/11/2011
Fun and Effective workout!
Amy provides another effective workout. Her cuing is great and her encouragement and comments keep you motivated. The first two segments are a little fast paced, but you really get a great workout and work up a great sweat! The entire DVD is fun and unique. The great thing about 10 min workouts, if you are short on time, do the first two sections of this DVD and you feel like you got in an effective workout for the day. Keep em' coming Amy! - posted by Joyce on 11/26/2011
Avid Firm User Gives This One a Thumbs Up
This was my first Amy Bento video and I was impressed. I like the mix of workouts all wrapped up into one as well as the aero/toning firm style sections. The ab workout is fun but not super challenging--she does a lot of standing work which is a nice break from floor work but in my opinion not as tough. Also, I really don't care for the crawling on the floor as I don't have a lot of room and am often unpleasantly surprised to see what my children have stashed under the couch. In any event, I would recommend this workout to be done all together as a full body challenge. - posted by Carrie on 11/17/2011
10 Hotbody Boot Camp
Good work out. The 10 minute sections make the workout go by quickly, but I still feel like I have worked out...when I do at least 3 of the 5 workout. If you are athletic, you may actually to the 10 stretch. It is not yoga. - posted by Mary on 11/11/2010
Awesome
I love this workout! Amy is great I workout with some of her other advanced workouts and was not sure if this would be enough but everytime I do it I can see the results it's awesome. Sore every next day and can already tell a big difference in my butt and my abs. Thank you Amy. - posted by Heather on 11/1/2010
Most Challenging 10 Min Solutions I own
I have several 10 MS DVD's, one of which features Amy Bento from a few years ago. I also like Amy Bentos own DVD's so I bought this new one when it came out. I like it a lot and find it quite challenging even though I would consider myself an advanced exerciser. I do Cathe, Jari Love. Mindy Milrae and Amy Bento advanced DVDs often. - posted by Julia on 10/13/2010
Love it!
This workout really gets me working. Its tough! I would rate it Int/Advanced, not just intermediate, especially the first section, "Hot Blast Cardio." Even the the ab section (Ab Assault) and the lower body toning section (Rock Bottom Sculpt) are aerobic/anaerobic, so I would say you get a cardio workout throughout. The 10 minute stretch is a great reward. So nice to actually devote ten minutes to stretching. Amy is encouraging and motivating, as usual! The fast moving boot camp exercises are fun and unique. Amy is one of the best instructors around and this an awesome and fun boot camp workout! - posted by Maria on 9/3/2010
Fantastic!
I love Amy and I love this workout. I work out to Cathe, Kelly, and the FIRM. Amy's cuing is great, her encouragement and comments are so cheering and motivating. She always says just the right thing! Each of these workouts are pretty tough in and of themselves - put them together and they give you one excellent workout! Unique moves and she makes you work hard. Definitely my favorite of the Ten Minute Solution workouts - this one and her Get Fit Mix also are fantastic. Thanks Amy! - posted by Cheryl on 7/24/2010
Disappointing
I am an intermediate-advanced exerciser. This video did not have enough reps, and jumped around way to much to be effective. There are many other videos out there that are so much better, very disappointing!!! I did like some of here moves they where unique and fun, but there where not enough reps to make this video effective !!! - posted by Shelly on 7/16/2010
Did Not Like
This was my first Amy Bento video but I didn't like it. It seemed rushed and the cueing was not good. This is coming from someone who picks up on moves very easily. I didn't feel like I was getting a good workout. I was bored and simply felt it was a waste of time. - posted by Yolanda on 12/12/2009

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
