Certified instructor description: A solid workout that shows “kettlebell” moves without a kettlebell (the instructor only uses a dumbbell). So, even if you haven’t yet bought a kettlebell, you can still enjoy the benefits of the booming kettlebell workout trend. Dr. Michele Olson makes it work by focusing on the kettlebell-style acceleration/deceleration elements in every movement. Her form is flawless and her one-on-one cuing is very easy to follow. The DVD features five 10-minute segments. The first includes both aerobics and toning; the other four each tone a specific body area. You can program the DVD to play any segment in any order. Requires a 3 to 10 lb. dumbbell or kettlebell. ©2008. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Narrow screen, Close captions, Region 1.

10 Minute Solution: Kettlebell Ultimate Fat Burner

I Love This Video!
I am a senior, new to k-bells, and I just love this workout. The pace is controlled, but Dr Olson keeps things moving right along. You can do just one or two, or do the whole workout, and I promise you will be in a sweat and deliciously wrung out! You can also do the workout before you purchase a k-bell to see if you like it. Great value, and a video that is a keeper. - posted by Alice on 4/18/2013
Great introduction to Kettlebell
I wasn't sure what kettlebell exercises were, but find this DVD a great introduction without the expense of buying a kettlebell. I really enjoy the moves and find the workouts well paced. I've been working out with DVD's for about 4 years and find this one to be one of the best I have used. - posted by Susan on 3/21/2013
10 minutes very doable
I work from home so during my morning and afternoon break I do a 10 minute workout and I feel like I got a really good short workout. I love kettlebell workouts and this is one I will keep in my rotation. Really glad I got this video, the instructor has a nice personality and she gives good instructions. Glad I got this. - posted by Judy on 2/7/2013
Great Total Body
Just did this video yesterday for the first time and thought it covered all vital body areas very well. Michele is a great instructor and leads very well. Not as strenuous as her lower body workout but pretty good just the same. - posted by Debbie on 2/7/2013
Good
This is my first Kettlebell workout, and I actually use a kettlebell, though it is designed for use with a dumbbell. The moves are pretty basic, and it moves pretty slowly, kinda quiet and low key. I hesitate to say it's boring, however, because it does keep you moving and provides a good workout. I have tendonitis in my left elbow, which requires me to use a very light dumbbell on many of the moves, even so, when I do three segments back to back, I feel as if I'm getting a good burn. Once my elbow heals, I think I could move on to more advanced kettlebell work, as I would rate this a beginner rather than advanced workout. - posted by Sojourn on 2/6/2013
Great KettleBell Workout
I enjoyed this workout a lot. The custom workout set-up is not as convenient as others (namely comparing to Denise Austin's DVD's) but better than not being able to set a custom workout at all and have to do a 10 min and then restart in the main menu to select the next one. The workouts themselves are great and I felt a good soreness result the day after! Enjoy! - posted by Natalia on 2/1/2013
great short workouts. Easy to Follow
I only have 10 min in the morning to get in a short workout. This video offers a variety each 10 min long. I Love it! Easy to Follow - posted by Carla on 1/31/2013
Just Ok...
I had some problems with this DVD. Firstly, this is my first Michele Olson DVD and I find her personality to be pretty bland...not nuts about her...secondly, it seemed to me that she introduced four moves and simply kept repeating them for 10 minutes...honestly speaking, I found her and her moves to be boring. I did however feel that the workout was, at times, challenging and well cued. I probably won't be buying any more of her DVDs... - posted by Joanna on 1/25/2013
Kettlebell?
I wondered why this was labeled a kettlebell workout when in fact there was no kettlebell used in the workout. Now I know! After doing the workout for the first time, the moves are a little fast to use a kettlebell but are doable although I hope I don't get too many bruises on my arm from some of the moves. All that said, this is a great workout, and next time I'll just use a free weight. - posted by Tracey on 1/24/2013
Terrific workout
This is a great workout. The time flies and it works your entire body really well. Definitely recommend it highly! - posted by Darla on 11/16/2012

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Narrow screen
X
When played on a widescreen TV, this program will show black bars on the left and right sides. On an older 4x3 ratio TV, it will fill the entire screen.
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
