Certified instructor description: You get five different 10-minute workout segments plus a 6-foot resistance band. The band provides Pilates machine-style moves at home (e.g. similar to the straps/springs on a Reformer, the band adds intensity while assuring absolute control during muscle contraction and elongation). You can also vary the resistance by simply adjusting how and where you hold the band (e.g. making it shorter to increase resistance). I love this dvd. My doctor suggested that I begin a Pilates program. I have a gym membership but the Pilates class is given too late in the evening for me to attend. I decided to do Pilates at home and this works for me. The introductory presentation is very helpful and the workouts are easy to do. Thanks. - posted by Les on 2/16/2012

not bad!

My go-to Pilates workout
This DVD has quickly become my go-to workout on days that I can barely get motivated to exercise. I pop it in thinking I'll do 1 or 2 segments, and invariably I do at least 4 if not all 5. Suzanne is a great instructor; she's friendly and encouraging and her cueing is helpful but direct, with no wasted time or chit-chat. The upper body workout is even tougher than some dumbbell workouts. The band makes it challenging without being gimmicky, and you can see yourself progress as you increase your resistance with the band. I have (and like) several 10-Minute Solution workouts, but this one is my favorite. - posted by Marsha on 5/31/2011
Like It but
I actually quite like this 10 minute solution pilates dvd firstly because the instructor is good, cues really well and is very personable and secondly because I like the exercises the dvd has in it, particularly the legs and arms section,I also have the rapid results pilates and don't like that quite as much as I find the dumbells arm section stresses my joints out too much and too difficult , the band is much more effective for toning my arms and legs. I combine this with 10minute solution cardio dvds such as knockout body,dance off fat fast, as well as target toning and quick tummy toning and have seen marked results. I love all of these dvds and will continue to use, I am down to 110 pounds now, was 160pounds at this time last year and I put this weight loss down to better eating and a better exercise plan:) - posted by Shelbie on 1/15/2011
Great Video
I am greatly enjoying this workout. It is clear and Suzanne explains what she is doing and what it works very clearly. I have done numerous exercise videos over the years, this is one of the better ones. A good workout! My only complaint is that she does move a bit fast and sometimes it is kind of difficult to get the band into position in time. The more I do it, the better it gets however, since I start to expect what is coming up next. The ten minute segments are terrific as always, so you know you get something done, even if all is chaos around you! And you still know what you have to work on when you don't have enough time to do it all in one sitting. - posted by chaya on 7/8/2010
Very Good!

Unique workout
I really like this workout. It's different and nice to add to my other dvd's and gym workouts. I do this pilates workout with other 10 minute pilates DVD's every other week and it is a nice balance to my cardio/strength training workouts. Don't bother
The workout is divided into five sections: lower body, arms, abs, total body, and stretch. The lower body section was completely useless to me. Because of pulling on the band I felt it in my arms not my legs. The arms section was the best overall but definitely not advanced. Abs was decent. I just don't think doing any of these sections for 10 minutes or combining them in any manner would yield noticeable results for anyone other than an absolute beginner. And even that is questionable. A fav!
From the first time I used it I knew it was going to become a favorite. Suzanne's cueing is so precise and easy to follow. She instructs slow enough that you are not left behind. I still struggle with my band from time to time, but the problem is with my band, not her. One helpful hint, when doing the upper body workout, if you have longer hair, make sure its put up! Reading a Time Graph

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.

Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Toning emphasis

Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.
