Time graph for 10 Minute Solution Slim & Sculpt Pilates

You get five different 10-minute workout segments plus a 6-foot resistance band. The band provides Pilates machine-style moves at home (e.g. similar to the straps/springs on a Reformer, the band adds intensity while assuring absolute control during muscle contraction and elongation). You can also vary the resistance by simply adjusting how and where you hold the band (e.g. making it shorter to increase resistance). Each segment uses a variety of well-transitioned, carefully chosen exercises to target a specific area: lower body, upper body, abs, total body or stretch (DVD can be programmed to play any/all segments in any order). Excellent, one-on-one cuing by Suzanne Bowen. ©2007. DVD has: Programmable chapters.

10 Minute Solution Slim & Sculpt Pilates

Wonderful!
I've tried the lower body, upper body, & stretching segments of this workout for the first time last week, & I was like- wow!! This workout is wonderful! It totally packs a wallop in that short a time. I like the instructor. To me, she gives a calm, soothing presence. I actually prefer her to Lara Hudson. I'll be adding this workout to my routine. I loved it. - posted by Tranisha on 6/10/2008
So -So
I have this one and I done it only twice , it is ok but I just dont have that good feeling after I am done . The instructor is nice , the music is fine but I did not click with this one oh one more thing 10 min sol. never worked for me I also gave away 10 min rapid results maybe for beginners this would be fine. I never do this workout
Maybe I don't like Pilates much, or maybe I just have not done an excellent pilates workout but this one seemed to be too quick. I would really love it if the reps were HIGHER. She seems to move too fast and you don't really feel the burn because of the short amount of time you spend on each muscle. I have done some segments twice just because of this, but I have not really reached for this workout in months...does not seem very effective. - posted by Mandee on 6/2/2008
Great Workout for Addon!
I really enjoy this workout. I use some heavier bands sometimes to increase the challenge. As far a the rating goes, you have to remember it's being rated int/adv as far as pilates workouts goes, not trying to compare it wiht Cathe, lol. Anyway, Suzanne gives great pointers and is a pleasant instructor. I love to add on a few segments after my cardio and get some great pilates in. - posted by Elaine on 5/15/2008
Thanks so much Suzanne!!!
All I can say is WOW!!! This is a perfect workout for busy people. I started this program April 1st and did at least 2 workouts a night. With some jogging and a good diet I dropped 8 pounds and have lost 2 inches off my waist. Even though I have never done Pilates before this has really been a wonderful video for me. I love all 5 solutions and I just want to spread the word about how much this has helped me. - posted by Alicia on 5/9/2008
Not crazy about it
I agree with Valerie, I will give it another try before donating. This is the first time I've used bands, and I was expecting a challenging workout. It was extremely easy, I felt most of my work was in pulling the bands tighter to get resistance. In other words, the workout was in my hands, more than any other body part. The arm work out was good, but not enough to justify buying the dvd. I will give it 3 stars but may change it if something clicks later. - posted by Cardius on 5/5/2008
Love this!
I've done the lower body, total body, abs, and stretching segments, but not the upper body yet, and have really liked all but the stretching segment (though I may give it another try before writing it off). Anyway, I'm probably at an intermediate level as far as pilates goes, and I can feel these moves, so a beginner might want to learn the moves without the band first. But the great thing about the band is that you can easily adjust it to make it more or less challenging to suit your needs. And as someone else suggested, pause and add more reps if you want. The 10 minute segments are great so you can do as little or as much as you want/have time for -- I'm currently concentrating on cardio in the mornings to burn more calories, but I can slip in a segment or 2 of this on 3 evenings a week to keep my muscles and tone up. - posted by Valerie on 4/23/2008
mixed feelings
I really liked the instructor. She gives great cueing. I think the only stumble for me is that I was expecting an Inter/Adv workout. I would not consider this an advanced workout at all. I am a regular exerciser and found that the exercises were just not particularly challenging. I do like this dvd because it offers something different. I will continue to use it and might take another viewers suggestions to pause the dvd and do more reps when necessary. - posted by mon on 4/4/2008
Fantastic
I absolutely love this DVD. It is short and sweet. The moves are not difficult and you can feel that your body had some strength training. The added resistance band only makes these moves better. It is great if you can just do one and even better if you can do two or more. - posted by Saundra on 3/21/2008
This is a fun, appealing workout!
I'm an advanced exerciser (I lift free weights four days a week), and this seems like more of a beginner workout to me, but it's really fun. I can feel the burn for the arm section, and there were some new abdominal exercises. Adjusting one's grasp on the band does increase the intensity of each exercise. The instructor is really cute and appealing. The flexibility section has a lot of useful stretches that I hadn't tried before. I am going to continue to do this DVD now and then, especially for days when I feel worn out or tired. It might not be the hardest workout ever, but it feels good and it's relaxing. If one doesn't lift weights it will probably seem much more intense! - posted by Karisha on 3/13/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
