Time graph for A.M. and P.M. Stretch
Two very gentle total-body stretch programs exquisitely filmed in the Canadian Rockies (blue skies, pine trees, towering mountains). Each program is ideally structured to match the specific time of day. “AM” begins with floor stretches and body-awakening breathing, then advances into standing routines to align your posture for the upcoming day. “PM” reverses the sequence; it starts with standing moves and finishes with active/passive lying stretches designed to “end each day calm, relaxed and ready for a good night’s sleep.” Quiet music and soothing, voiceover cuing. ©2002. A.M. and P.M. Stretch

Great, warming stretch
It is a great invigorating, flowing stretching routine. She even gets you to generate a little heat to make the stretches more effective and more safe. This video does do a lot of yoga inspired moves though with additional innovative moves which I did like. I just missed more of the strengthening poses from traditional yoga which also adds to the effectiveness of the stretch. So I gave this one away and returned to focus on authentic yoga. - posted by Cher on 1/28/2010
I loved it!
I am very inflexible, so I needed this dvd. I did the PM stretch last night and I loved it. I slept so well, and was able to work out great his morning. Tomorrow is my rest day, so I may try the AM stretch. Great DVD. - posted by Eileen on 10/15/2009
Awesome
I havent been able to touch my toes since the 3rd grade. I have made it one of my goals. I got this dvd because I need something I can actually do yoga is way too out there for me. Well I did my first session this morning. It actually woke me up and I could do everything. Granted Not perfect, but I can see with doing this every morning and night I will be able to reach my goals. The lady is awesome and you dont even really have to look at the screen to know what to do cause her queing is awesome. The one bad part is they must of loaded the film in mirror because when she talks about her right its actually her left but it doesnt affect the work out. I think if you need something gentle yet effective this is for you. - posted by Traci on 9/16/2009
Wonderful! Wonderful!
I did the PM Stretch after my Pilates workout today and I feel great! This really complements the Pilates moves and is totally relaxing in preparation to settle down for the night. Can't wait to do the AM Stretch tomorrow morning! I am going to recommend this to a couple of friends who are forever complaining about feeling achy - this should help them! - posted by Mo on 9/3/2009
Wow!
This DVD is a definite keeper. These workouts were the first that I've ever done that made me feel better afterwards, not worse. This is the first athletic-style stretch routine that I've done (I usually stick with yoga), but Madeleine Lewis has made me want to explore this genre some more. Also, the routines are not solely focused on flexibility. Many of the stretches require strength to control. The AM workout ends with establishing good posture while the PM one has a brief break for a foot massage. The scenery is as beautiful as you would expect from Gaiam, and the music is gentle and flows well with Madeleine's pleasant voice. Her cuing is very clear and straightforward, which is particularly useful because many of the stretches put you in a position where it is difficult to see the TV screen. I think that this DVD is really selling itself short; in addition to the two 30-minute AM and PM workouts, there is also a 20 minute "Power Stretch" segment. If you only own one stretching video, make it this one. - posted by Libby on 7/26/2009
Nice Video, Good Stretch Program
I found this to be more Yoga based, also but I loved it. The A.M. part got me ready for the day, and the P.M. part relaxed me. I also liked the quick 20-minute workout/stretch bonus. The scenery is breathtaking and nice, quiet guitar music accompanies it. I found it a bit hard to follow the first time but with practice, it became easier. All in all, a great video! - posted by Angie on 7/6/2009
Good stretch, but more like yoga
I agree with another reviewer who said this is more yoga based rather than athletic based stretching. Overall it is a good stretch, but i find it long for my schedule, 30 minutes is just too much and if you skip warm up, it's simply not good. I'm better with a 10-15 minute stretch. And I also agree this is not a beginners level, it's intermediate. Not a dust collector, but not my favorite, either - posted by Gabytopo on 7/3/2009
Great Video
Great video for beginners. I have not worked out in many years, walked alot but nothing else. I was looking for something that would help me get started again. I have been using this video for over a month and I have gotten into it so much that I do the am and pm at the same time. I am looking forward to the time that I can do the power stretch. My posture changed within a few days. I feel like a million dollars and are seeing results already. Madeleine is great, love her gentle voice and she is reassuring and reminds you to breathe The music is good and landscape is beautiful. I have been using this video for over a month. Thanks for producing a GREAT video Madeleine. - posted by Odile on 4/29/2009
Great workout for Fibromyalgia and arthritis patients!
I have fibromyalgia and arthritis. My body is usually very achy and my joints stiff, especially in the morning. This video is great for relaxing at the end of a hard day and has helped me become much more flexible. I couldn't touch my toes a year ago and now I can stretch beyond my feet! It is the one exercise video I use constantly and I highly recommend it. - posted by Helen on 9/9/2008
Still Using it!
I've used this previously to lose weight and get moving and it worked! After an operation I quit working out and gained my weight back. So here I am again. The first thing I am doing is this CD and it's working again in 2008! This is the best for those of us with arthritis and other problems with movement. - posted by Cindy Downes on 7/23/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
