Certified instructor description:
Never intimidating or “mystical,” this easy-to-follow program by a veteran PBS TV star is perfect for seniors. It’s easy to achieve the flexibility, strength and inner peace of this ancient discipline. Teaching solo, Lilias takes you to the very core of yoga — basic breathing and stretching followed by a series of gentle, modified yoga postures. Her careful cuing and warm personality combine to make this a safe, comfortable and accepting experience (“perhaps you will not do every posture,” “let the little wobbles happen”). The morning program emphasizes energizing and flexibility routines to start your day. The evening workout focuses on relaxation and sleep improvement. ©1998. AM & PM Yoga for Seniors with Lilias

Trouble I have with DVD workouts....
Not doubt Lilias is very good. But the trouble with most DVDs is they give you alot of information, and the first time you view it, it is important. But if you are like me, it gets pretty boring and even annoying and time consuming by the time you've worked out with the video more than 2 times. The cute little jokes and comments, and length explanations are off-putting. Clearly the editors of this video sense this was an issue, so they created a version without sound. Unfortunately you do have to look at Lilias moving her mouth with....no sound! Her workout is really good, but I would have to give it only 3 stars instead of 5 because of these issues. - posted by Vicki on 2/9/2012

AM and PM Yoga
This video is really too slow for me. I'm 74 and have been in a local yoga class and was hoping to get something I could do at home especially with the cold weather coming. I believe it is for someone even older than I possibly. I will keep it for later....I'm not getting any younger! - posted by Linda on 11/10/2011
please, more of lilias folan
I had not done Lilias for a long time. I exchanged another yoga dvd which I could NOT do, for this one. She is very soothing, understanding. It IS a slow-moving practice, which sometimes I don't have the time for; but her moves are modified for people (like me) who cannot do the deep bends/twists that other so-called 'beginner's workouts want you to do. I like, too, the fact that she's an older person now, with patience and wisdom from many years of yoga. - posted by vanessa on 10/31/2011
Excellent!
The video is the 'best'! Lilias does it up Excellently! - posted by Norma on 10/28/2011
Gentle
The basic instructions and modifications make it valuable for a beginner, but it is also a good refresher for those with more experience -- or for those like me who have developed new pains from aging and need to adjust our yoga accordingly. The audio guided relaxation is a wonderful calming addition, almost worth the price of the video alone. Lilias is such a gentle, understanding instructor -- if you've never done yoga, she is a great choice to introduce you to its joys and benefits. - posted by Martha on 7/25/2011
Excellent
After just one viewing, this cd has become an indispensable part of my day. Wonderful! - posted by Robin on 6/5/2011
Excellent yoga DVD
I have not had good luck with yoga classes. Many have poses that are too difficult or just plain dangerous. Lilias has a wonderful calm and reassuring manner. She explains everything before she does it and gives safe ways of changing positions. I particularly love the AM yoga. My only complaint is that it is very slow paced after you have done it a few times. If she updates this video, I would suggest that a shorter version minus the explanations be included on the video. - posted by Barbara on 4/28/2011
AM & PM Yoga Workouts for Seniors
I like this video. I have some back & neck problems that are specifically addressed by the workout routine in this video. The instructor is very knowledgeable and explains what area/problem the exercise is addressing. I will be upgrading to a more aggressive workout after using this one for a while since it seems to be preparing me for the next step up. I will come back to this website to order my next workout video. -THANKS!! - posted by Terri on 2/24/2011
Great for Seniors
I thought YOGA was too hard till I tried this. I'm thinking about getting her one for beginners now. - posted by Deb on 1/23/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Music only option
X
This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).
