Certified instructor description: Three videos plus two weighted resistance bands (“Billy Bands”). The new bands now include removable, one-pound weights in each handle. The added weight improves variety while increasing the power and intensity of every movement. Workout 1 is a solid total-body program. Its first half is all fat burning — lots of high-energy punches, kicks and jabs. The second half shapes your upper and lower body. Workout 2 is all muscle-toning; it also targets your arms, legs and buttocks at a slightly higher intensity. Billy carefully optimizes each routine’s resistance by using the bands in specific configurations (e.g. crossing the bands or positioning them behind your back). Workout 3 perfectly complements the other programs. It’s a fast-paced ab-toner that includes both standing and floor exercises. Each of these videos includes a one-on-one “bonus” section (instructional, dumbbell toning and more ab work). Includes Success Planner booklet. ©2005. DVD has: Chapter menus, Narrow screen, Region 1.

Tae Bo: Billy's Boot Camp Elite Tae Bo (with bands)

Love it!
I have never been more toned from ANY other workout as I am with Billy Blanks workouts. So what, he has trouble with the bands, he's human! Superb toning on the 2nd DVD! Mix that with Fat Blasting Cardio and you will be ripped! - posted by TB on 4/10/2012
Billy's Boot Camp Elite With Bands
I personally like the Bands and his DVD's. - posted by Kathleen on 10/6/2011
Billy is the best, period.
Haven't tried the bands yet nor all the videos, but no one is better than Billy. I do think I will like it better without bands, but again, no one beats his workouts. - posted by Christine on 5/15/2011
Not what i expected.
Ok, so i'm a big fan of Billy. I do have loads of Bully's videos. However, this was not what i expected, he focused on one side of the body, like he does in other video. No one wants to be lopsided. Besides, there wasn't anything new in these videos.... On the other hand, it was very high energy, If that's what you're looking for then give it a go. - posted by Zee on 9/21/2010
Not that bad
The first DVD is a waste of time, but the second and the AB version are alright. The second video did burn my shoulders and butt quite a bit, but it hasn't got any cardio in it, that's a shame. The bands are superb though, so if you mix these video's with Bootcamp Basic Training and Bootcamp Ultimate for is first series, you got yourself a great workout! - posted by Stanly on 8/25/2010
Billy's Boot Camp
Okay, so this has been the second Billy Blank's video I've tried........And nope, don't like this one either! It was slow and again, he spent very little time on the sets before switching to another set without much of a hint. Again, I had to modify this and do my own thing. Though it was slow for me, it was easy to up the ante on this(or slow it down!). Instead of the bands, I used my weights. I really didn't sweat all that much and wondered why he was sweating! He must be tossing buckets of water on himself during the breaks! When the workout was over, I felt like it wasn't enough! I have the abs that I'm going to try out next. Wish me better luck on that one(can hardly wait!) - posted by Jen on 7/30/2009
IN DEFENSE
this was the first billy blanks dvd set i had ever done, i have no idea why all of these poeple are bashing this set. I wil admit the music is not very good, but the work out and the intensity level of the work outs are awesome. Some of the less challenging exercises i substituted with push ups and curls with light weights. I do max power on mon wed and fri and rock solid abs followed by 2.5 mile run on tues, thurs and sat. I have lost 11 pounds in 4 weeks and i feel awesome. My only real complaint is the lack of chest exercises and the music is not very good(i added push ups and curls for the less challenging exercises but to the same count as billy which made the work out even better.. The bands did bruise my arms from the wrapping around the back moves he does to add ressistance during rock solid abs, but that wasnt a huge deal for me. This set is not for beginers, even the getting started dvd is somewhat challenging. Max power will make you sweat your behind off and really pump up your upper body. I think the bands are awesome, just dont over adjust them to where you cant finish the work out becuase the bands are too tight. i give this set 4 out of 5 - posted by NICK on 1/18/2009
Too Slow
I love Billy and the new weighted bands but I thought that this workout wasn't the greatest. Stick with the first Billy Blanks Bootcamp DVD. - posted by Marie on 6/11/2008
1st Time @ Tae Bo and I liked this!
I enjoyed the workout..I have the complete set but I have so far only used the beginner dvd because I've never done Tae Bo before (shocking, I know). I'm normally more of a walking video type person but I have to say I enjoyed this workout very much, the warm up had me sweating and the workout made me feel great! I think this is good for a beginner, Billy walks through the moves before he speeds it up and if I dont get a move, I just rewind a little and do it again! I'm sure on some moves I looked clumsy but I did the full video, used the bands and felt the workout the next day! I'll keep doing this video! - posted by Diana on 5/10/2008
what was he thinking
Like everyone else i love billy but these tapes were not good at all on the second tape he has trouble with his bands and he is out of camera range not professional he should of did that segment over. The counting is off and the staff looks like their struggling with the bands to. the lower body workout with the bands is not bad but not that good to save this dvd. Please save your money. - posted by delores on 3/7/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Narrow screen
X
When played on a widescreen TV, this program will show black bars on the left and right sides. On an older 4x3 ratio TV, it will fill the entire screen.
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Aerobics & Toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
