Certified instructor description: A fat-burning-focused aero/tone interval program led by a “passionate and friendly” trainer. The kettlebell makes the aerobics more intense and the toning more effective (because you have to control the bell’s momentum). Like the ideal personal trainer, Bob emphasizes safety and effectiveness. He begins by explaining the move and demonstrating the correct form. Then, he puts down the kettlebell and focuses on the exerciser (combining friendly motivation with helpful tips on technique). Features a wide range of kettlebell classics — from “halos” and “weaves” to “suitcase swings” and “windmills” (plus some non-kettlebell exercises). Requires a 5 to 20 lb. kettlebell. ©2010. DVD has: Wide screen.

less talk
I have really enjoyed the workout but it would be nice to have another option on the same disc with just workouts and less instruction. - posted by Brent on 3/24/2012
50-60% Kettlebell
I have other kettlebell DVDs, and I've liked other Bob Harper DVDs - but this is not one of them. You'll perform a kettlebell move (and there's very little here in terms of safety and form) or maybe two. Then you'll set the kettlebell aside to immediately perform some old-school gym-class aerobics (push-ups, high knees, burpees). There's absolutely no rest between anything, and for this level of intensity, there should be a few seconds at least! It suggests to me that either Bob doesn't trust the workout that pure kettlebells can deliver (rendering the extra boot camp moves unnecessary) or he just doesn't know. In either case, I thought this workout has you doing extra work that does little to improve the results you'd get if Bob just stuck to the kettlebells alone. - posted by Kathy on 3/7/2012
AWESOME WORKOUT!!!!
This is an awesome workout! your heart races through the entire workout! thanks Bob - posted by Kim on 3/5/2012
You want Bob for a Trainer? You got him.
Bob Harper may be the nice guy on Biggest Loser but he does not mess around and he will push you. Bob takes the time to point out proper form for KettleBell which is so important. I feel as though I've had a solid workout. This is my first Bob Harper fitness DVD and it won't be my last. I don't need bells and whistles in fitness DVDs. I want a motivating instructor that keeps my eye on my form not on the digital clock. I'm focused during this DVD and afterwards I know that I've worked hard. - posted by Bridget on 1/26/2012
Kettlebell Christmas
I have been working out daily for many years. This year, my husband got me a kettlebell for Christmas. One of my favorite gifts is workout equipment, workout clothes or, of course, DVD's! I ordered Bob Harper's Kettlebell Cardio Shred. I love it! It's a great mix of cardio and strength training in just the right amount of time to fit into my schedule. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend it! - posted by Deborah on 1/19/2012
Great kick butt video
I love this video, it's challenging enough for my husband to get a great workout so I know it's gotta work! Get ready to sweat and have a sore bottom! I'm a personal trainer and I can't wait to use some of the moves on this video with my clients. - posted by Denise on 1/19/2012
Great workout
I love how the moves go from using the kettle bell to cardio bursts. The moves work your muscles nicely without using too heavy of a weight and you keep moving the entire time! This is one of my favorite dvds now and I like it much better than the other Bob dvds that I own. - posted by Stephani on 11/17/2011
very well cued workout!
This workout kicked my butt the next morning! I consider myself to be mostly advanced & this dvd provided me with a heart pounding cardio workout. After 2 days I'm still a little sore. I love that Bob takes the time to demonstrate proper form when using kettlebells, since I'm fairly new to using them. Would like more of these workouts, especially as I progress. Overall great dvd. - posted by sandra on 10/13/2011
Inside out method, by Bob Harper
I really enjoy this workout. If I am going to workout for an hour I want to sweat and give it all I got, and this DVD is 'thumbs up' - posted by Rhonda on 9/23/2011
Super Boring!!!!
This is the most boring kettlebell workout I have ever done. The workout has a really bad instructor and very plain and boring music and exercises. - posted by Ben on 7/18/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
