Seven years later and I'm still working out with these tapes!
I've worked out with these 18 separate and complete Bodies in Motion episodes (minus the commercials) for the last seven years. Gilad's coaching always motivates me. I usually use these programs to warm up for more aerobics, muscle training, or yoga. When I really don't want to exercise, I work out to one show just to get done quickly. These tapes have also been a huge aid to ease back into exercising after illness and injury. The cost per use of the tape set has more than paid for itself. I am a fan of modern exercise programs, but I benefit from Gilad's basic calisthenics too. - posted by Susan on 2/25/2009
love them!
I just want to point out that these are not just segments of Gilad's shows. They are entire shows with the commercials edited out. So sometimes he tells you to "keep going during the break" and there isn't a break because the commercial isn't there. But none of the actual show has been left out. Also, the only chatter on my tapes was the usual little intro piece by Gilad at the beginning of each show. My sound and picture quality is good for all of the shows. These are fun if you have limited time and limited ambition, and I really enjoy the outdoor Hawaii scenery. Even my husband enjoys doing these, and he isn't really interested in very many video workouts. - posted by Barbara on 11/7/2008
Classic Gilad...
Ok, well for those of us that have been working out to Gilad for many years, this is 18 episodes of his BIM show that we all love. The exercises are NOT cut off, it was from his TV show so there would be commercials and he tells you what to do thru the break. Yes, I had 2 messed up tapes but by head cleaning my VCR made them at least viewable. All pictures are clear and the sound only faded a bit in the opening of two episodes. Also, someone else said that there is a repeated episode, there is not. They are just wearing the same outfits. Very good workouts. If you like Gilad and remember his BIM days, you will love these. - posted by CG on 6/8/2008
Love Gilad, Not these videos
I have been working out to Gilad for about 20yrs. These were the most disappointing tapes I have ever purchased. They are only segments of his shows. They start over when they should have continued like his other videos. These are not worth the money. Gilad is worth the money just not these videos. - posted by Rhonda on 4/13/2008

I love Gilad
I received a promotion at work that has meant a lot more hours, and I've been finding it very difficult to do my usual one hour workouts. The pounds started creeping on, but I was always too busy or too tired to workout. I decided to give this set a try. I still try to do longer workouts when I can, but I can always find the time and energy for 22 minutes, and it's a well-rounded 22 minutes. Thanks to Gilad I'm doing a little something everyday and I'm seeing a change after only 2 weeks. Everything is starting to tighten up again. And he has such a great attitude. Working out with Gilad is really fun. Thanks Gilad. Your workouts are simple but effective, and I'll be ordering more. - posted by Lisa on 3/5/2007
I love Gilad's videos. They are very effective and give you a great workout in a short amount of time. I would recommend these videos to anyone. - posted by Julee Davis on 6/9/2005
Best possible use of exercise time!
You can't go wrong doing these 22-minute workouts daily. If you're just starting, resolving to get back in shape after backsliding, or short on time, there is literally nothing like these former morning TV shows to get you moving, show results, and cheer you up. - posted by Paula on 12/17/2003
Disappointed
I was skeptical about spending this sum of money for workout tapes, but the reviews made me think they were worth it. However, I was very disapponted. The workout segments of the tapes are good once you have waded through all of the hype and inconsequential chat between each one segment, which make the work out drag a bit. The filming leaves something to be desired. My tapes were blurred, distorted and you couldn't hear the music. I am afraid that these high priced tapes will simply set on the shelf and not be used. - posted by Van on 8/22/2003
Gil Changed My Life
I remarked to my 15 year old son that Gil had changed my life. He didn't believe me until my husband piped up and assured him that he had. I discovered BIM while nursing my son in the middle of the night. I so wanted to try the show, because my post pregnancy weight wasn't budging, and it looked like so much fun. I was thrilled to soon find the show on later in the morning and immediately fit the show into my schedule. It wasn't long before I could complete the whole workout and I lost my extra weight within three months. More importantly, Gil made exercising fun and I looked forward to it every day. I exercised with Gil right up to the day that my daughter was born, and only gained 23 pounds. It was gone in no time once I started back up again with Gil. I got the same speedy results after my third child. My enthusiasm for fitness has grown over the years and as I became advanced I addedtapes and took up inline skating (even completing marathons). I have never forgotten that Gilad got me started on my fit lifestyle and I still love his tapes! - posted by Karen Alberson on 5/30/2003

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Narrow screen
X
When played on a widescreen TV, this program will show black bars on the left and right sides. On an older 4x3 ratio TV, it will fill the entire screen.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
