Time graph for Body Bar: Deep Definition with Rob Glick
Two body bar workouts -- a pure toning program and a aero/tone workout. "Deep Definition" is all toning. It integrates the latest exercise principles: core strength, balance, flexibility and symmetry. You’ll work every muscle group, including many often overlooked muscles that help prevent injuries or help in daily activities (functional strength training). Specifically designed for the body bar, these exercises feature unique positions or multiple motions (e.g. upright rows are done on one leg; reverse lunges incorporate trunk rotations). "Sport Zone," the aero/tone workout, uses the body bar for a series of innovative routines that build strength, stamina, speed and agility. From rock climbing to in-line skating, nearly all these exercises mimic common sports activities. The aerobic section features excellent pacing that alternates faster power sets with slower recovery sets. Requires a body bar and two mini-body bars (or dumbbells). ©2003 & ©1999. Note: The DVD is titled "Deep Definition" but it actually has both the "Deep Definition" and "Sports Zone" workouts. Also note: The VHS version is only the "Deep Definition" workout; it does not have "Sports Zone." DVD has: Chapter menus.

Body Bar: Deep Definition with Rob Glick

Wanted to Love this One, but It Felt Awkward to Me
I like Rob Glick, favor functional fitness workouts, and tend to be crazy about Body Bar workouts in general (esp. "Ready Set Superset" & "Strength and Conditioning"), so I was ready to fall head over heels with this workout. Instead, I felt disappointed. It just didn't flow well for me. It's possible that my body bars are too heavy (12 lbs. and 18 lbs.) for the workout. I so wanted this workout to be fun that I probably would have purchased a 9 lb. body bar if I felt it would salvage it, but 25 minutes into the workout, it was clear that this wasn't a love match for me. I tried Sports Zone immediately after and that proved to be less so. Oh well. You win some and lose some.... - posted by Michelle on 2/22/2008

Really Like This One
I just purchased this video as I like having variety in my strength video workouts. This is my fourth body bar purchase. I have to say I really like this one and it is much tougher and innovative than it appeared in the preview, which is great. I love the fact that Rob works muscles that MOST strength videos do not: he works on wrists, forearms, and shins, to name a few, muscles that need work, but that we do not think about. He does also stretch in between but not for too long as to break the rhythm of the workout. The creativity is great and I felt the soreness the next day and I used a 15lb bodybar. I would definitely recommend this one. Great job, Rob, from a loyal fan! - posted by Jill Sherry on 4/21/2007
Rob is great!
I just purchased this workout and I really love it! Rob works muscles most people never think about(like shins). Rob has a fantastic personality and makes the time fly. I am a person who gets bored very easily and it seems I enjoy Rob Glick and Kelli Roberts workouts the best. Both Rob and Keli are sooooo nice, creative and effective. - posted by Kathy on 3/31/2006
Highly recommend
Unique, effective, works every muscle in your body...even ones we forget about that are still very important to strengthen. Rob Glick is an excellent instructor...the time flies by. - posted by Kate on 2/6/2006
Excellent Toning Video
This is one of the most interesting, innovative, and effective video I have purchased in along time. Rob does not waste one minute of your workout time. He goes from one area to the other using a body bar, both long, and later in the video a short bar, in a fun and well choreographed way. I really feel the results from this video, it is not easy, but it is something that can be acheived. I have used this video many times since I have bought it, and I never get bored with it. He is a great instructor. - posted by Joan Schatz on 9/24/2003

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
