Certified instructor description: A non-stop fat-burner with a huge variety of mostly-step-aerobic styles. It’s super-motivating — just when you max out on one technique, you’ll move on to another. The first section is short-but-very-intense with lots of complex choreography. The second segment is much longer but a little slower. The third part includes four very challenging aerobic/anaerobic intervals (“power circuits”). The last section features a diverse medley of pure-cardio drills that sometimes incorporate a stability ball or dumbbells (e.g. holding the ball as you step). Note: This video was created from selected portions of Cathe’s “Low Impact Circuit,” “Body Max 2” and “Drill Max” programs. A stability ball and 2 to 5 lb. dumbbells are suggested. ©2006. DVD has: 3 premixes (42 to 80-min. alternate workouts), Programmable chapters.

Cathe Friedrich's Cardio Fusion

Nice cardio combo
I must have had a brain fluff when I ordered this, because I already have all of the dvd's that this is made from. At first, I was kind of mad, but it's my own fault for not thoroughly reading the description. I thought it might be handy to have another longer cardio video to pop in on occasion, and that is why I kept it. I don't get bored with it because it keeps things mixed up, and has some pretty challenging cardio segments (the one with the stability ball... does that kill anyone else's arms, or is it just me?). I also like the fact that I can just jump right into the step routines. So I kept it, call me crazy, because even though I have the other dvds, this is a good quality super-sweaty longer cardio routine. - posted by Brittany W. on 4/4/2011
Couldn't get it :(
Tried this video at least 5 times because I desperately wanted to get it, but I couldn't. The choreography was just too complicated for me and I never got past the first 10 minutes. Very frustrating for me because I could tell that this tape would give a good work-out. Ended up selling it on e-bay and now trying the Intensity tape. - posted by Susan on 12/12/2010
Lots of cardio
I was looking for a longer step cardio workout and boy did I find it. Perfect time for me. I like a longer cardio workout on days that I feel up to it and this DVD really works for me. I was a little worried that the "steps" would be to hard to follow and the first segment is a little tricky but I have been able to "get it" with a couple of times. I have the drill max DVD as well but this DVD just pulls the cardio sections out which I like. If you are looking for a longer cardio step workout than look no further! Have fun! - posted by Kate C on 12/10/2010
Best step workout!
I quit my gym membership now that I have a workout space in my house and access to great Cathe DVDs! This is the best of the bunch that I have tried so far (I've been using it for over a year now) and the one I keep going back to. It is faced paced, fun, and you don't have time to get bored! The variations on the DVD allow you to get a different workout based on your focus for that day. I highly recommend this DVD to any intermediate/advanced stepper. - posted by MW on 12/5/2010
Intense and Fun!
This has to be one of my favorite Cathe workouts! I absolutely love the drills, especially with the ball! I couldn't believe how tired my arms felt after this one! I don't have BodyMax 2 and I was still able to catch on to the choreography rather quickly. This is a great addition to my collection of workouts! - posted by SG on 3/30/2009
The BEST Step Aerobic DVD
I'm a mother of two, professional dancer and instructor of ballet & modern. I've been looking for a great step aerobic video for a while. I have finally found it!! I'm hooked on Cathe. She's an ultra pro at her sequence, timing, agenda and flow with her routines with this video. The production is well done. The music is energetic. The length is worth the money. It challenged me to pick up the steps, which made it fun because I like being challenged that way, hence I'm a dancer. It is easy to follow. If you are an athlete like me, you'll really like Cathe. Being a mother of a 4 & 3 y.o. doesn't give me the leasure to go to gyms, walking or running just to get my aerobics in my regime. This video does the job. I highly recommend. Well worth the money. - posted by Rosa on 1/31/2009
POWERFUL WORKOUT!!!!!
WOW! This workout is AWESOME!!! I have been using Cathe Friedrich's videos for almost ten years now and have always experienced rapid fat loss and gained muscle tone when I stick to her videos. I will only purchase Cathe Friedrich's videos because of her knowledge, professionalism and powerful workout videos. The music is also great to listen to. Everytime I complete this exercise video I've felt as though I burned off a whole 10,000 calories. You feel tired afterwards but the following day you feel and look stronger and healthier. Nothing and no one else can compete with Cathe Friedrich videos. I highly recommend ALL of her videos. Trust me, you'll save yourself thousands of dollars going to the gym. - posted by Alex Trevino on 1/31/2009
Excellent Workout!
For those that complain about having to learn steps, that's why it's labeled "complex"! This is not a DVD for the beginner stepper or someone new to Cathe! It is suggested by Cathe herself that you always preview the DVD in advanced in order to learn the choreography. I find that this DVD is excellent! The moves are challenging, but if you're used to cathe and her excellent cueing, you will have no problems! This DVD combines 3 of her best DVDs: Body max 2, Drill Max, and Low Impact circuit! The premixes are also great and vary between 45 minutes to 80+ minutes. It's a lot of fun and it burns tons of calories! This is a great investment if you are willing to take the time to learn or preview the DVD in advanced! - posted by Julia on 1/30/2009
you have to order another video just to learn the steps...
I've been dancing all my life and I don't mind learning new steps but when I exercise I don't want to be bothered having to learn all these ridiculous steps before I can even work out. She doesn't bother showing you the steps before she jumps straight into the exercise. You end up looking stupid trying to figure out the steps. There's absolutely no cuing. I plan on returning this. - posted by Bridget on 1/29/2009
Cathe is Phenomenal
Her workouts are all challenging and each specially unique defining of her style. She can’t be beat. She is the best. Period. - posted by Kathy on 7/9/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
