Certified instructor description: A huge variety of international music and dance styles, all taught with no verbal cuing (which lets you focus on the moves and songs). The range is amazing: from American disco and pop to Latin salsa and Cumbia (plus some Arabic bellydance and Indian Bollywood). Each of the eleven segments features dance steps that relate to that section’s specific musical style (e.g. a “samba pony” vs. a “middle eastern pony”). You also get a variety of classic cardio favorites like cha chas, mambos, grapevines and toe taps. Learning the moves will take some practice, but Christi’s hand cuing makes them do-able. The DVD also includes a separate 40-minute “move master” section that carefully demos each sequence. ©2012.

Christi Taylor's Pure Spice Cinnamon

Best of its kind!
This video is the closest you can get to a live Zumba class in your living room. Way better than the official Zumba videos (and a lot less expensive). Christi Taylor is an awesome instructor; her enthusiasm is infectious without being cloying or giggly. - posted by Deb on 5/24/2013
Looking for Zumba DVD? This is it!
Best dance DVD I have bought in a long time, and I buy a lot! If you enjoy going to Zumba classes, you will love this one. Format and moves are very similar to our classes so could jump right in on first viewing. Sure hope Christi makes more of these! - posted by Jackie on 5/24/2013
fantastic video
Really great video - like my Zumba class at the gym. No instructions but easy to follow and it is OKAY not to get it perfect - like Zumba it is just fun to dance. And it is a good workout. I love it! - posted by Ruth on 5/3/2013
Loved It!
I loved this workout. I have NO dance background, but I have been exercising for awhile. I love turbofire and most Cathe - and DVDs like that - just to give you an idea of where I am. I have found other Christi DVDs a little difficult in terms of choreography. For some reason, I found this tape really not all that challenging to follow. Yes, there are no cues - but I was able to follow Christi - she really does a terrific job with the nonverbal cues. The sections were about five minutes long, so I knew if I didn't get something, I could just throw it away and start again. Also, the music was TERRIFIC - such fun! Time flew, and I did get a workout, an enjoyable workout. I like it better than the Zumba DVDs out right now, seriously. I have those as well - like them, but not LOVE them like this DVD. Spice is more of a cardio challenge than some of the Zumba DVDs, and for me, Spice was easier to follow - I don't know why (perhaps more of an emphasis on legs and footwork?). Terrific job Christi Taylor! I hope you make another one! :) - posted by Helen on 5/1/2013
OK
good workout, I guess.. but I think some of the moves are a bit hard to follow.. - posted by Toni on 4/25/2013
Fun
I own, and love all of Christi Taylor's workouts. She makes working out fun. I enjoyed this video and felt like I did get a workout. The moves were easy to learn, yet challenging enough that I won't get bored after just a few workouts. I would have preferred some directions though, I don't like the "cue-less" workout. The lack of cues and the fact that Christi's clothing did not stand out from the rest of the group made it a little difficult to follow her. I had to follow another person in the video. - posted by Molly on 4/25/2013
Just like a Zumba Class
I have been going to Zumba classes and I wanted something that I can do at home. I did not like the actual Zumba fitness dvd's. I find this is an excellent zumba type dvd. Fun to do and is a great workout. - posted by Roberta on 4/25/2013
Love it!
I have been working out to Christi's workouts for at least 15 years. I consider myself an advanced exerciser (mostly Cathe, Kelly Coffey-Meyer, etc.) and workout at a gym. I just wanted to have an hour of fun dancing, no intervals, no HIIT, no intensity. This was it -- I'm not coordinated, work out on carpet, and have no dance training at all. I have never written a review before, but I was so thoroughly thrilled with this workout. I didn't watch the movemaster, but I didn't really need it. Any moves that I didn't initially get, I just kept trying and I eventually got them. I didn't want it to end. LOVE the music! Please make more, Christi! - posted by Lanie on 4/18/2013
Grew on me...& had me laughing with enjoyment.
I'm in my late 50s, an intermediate to advanced exerciser, & am also an exercise physiologist. I rarely write reviews, but want more of these dances, so decided to give my 2 cents. If you watch the Move Master, the dances are much more accessible, even with 2 left feet, & before I knew it, I was smiling & laughing & actually enjoying myself. Great workout & a fun way to exercise, with lots of variety in these functional moves. I like the stretching during the final dance, but also added some further upper body stretches, to round things out. Nicely done. - posted by Terry on 4/17/2013
"Clueless Workout"
I could not follow this workout at all. Instead of "Cueless" I would rename it "Clueless" because that is how I felt doing it. It was too complex and I think there should have been a voice option to play instructions with the workout. - posted by Dahlia on 4/14/2013

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
