Certified instructor description: Amy Bento combines aerobic favorites with higher-intensity bootcamp and kickboxing moves. It’s a non-stop fat-burner designed to keep you physically challenged. Each combo starts with familiar, large muscle-group moves like repeaters, jogs, jumping jacks and kick ball changes (often intensified with overhead arm motions). That’s followed by explosive bursts of bootcamp and kickboxing — squat thrusts, jump lunges, side kicks and “double front kicks.” But no slowing down; then you’re on to the next combo. It’s all driven by Amy’s contagious energy and great pop-hits music (e.g. “Buttons,” “Truly, Madly, Deeply” and “Go Your Own Way”). Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2008. DVD has: 4 premixes (44-64 min), Chapter menus.

Amy Bento's All Cardio Hi-Low Knockout

Love this - VERY challenging
I love the energy and challenging choreography. I consider myself in good shape and attend the gym regularly - it is definitely on par with some of the best classes at my gym. I like that it is challenging and will take me some time to be able to finish the entire cardio workout. Definitely not a DVD for beginners. - posted by Stefani on 1/13/2012
So Great!
This non stop video is perfect to loosing weight, toning you entire body and has fun music! There are different set combinations to choose from which make your workout times and intensities flexible! I have not gotten tired of it yet! - posted by Niki on 9/26/2011
A Blast!
This one is non-stop fun! The only combo I had difficulty picking up was the first one, and that's only because of the kick-ball-chains. I haven't done a kick-ball-chain since I was a little kid in dance class... Anyways, the rest of the combos were way fun and fairly easy to catch on to. Of course, as with most Amy videos, you will probably need a couple times through to have it mastered, but don't give up! The knockouts are fun and challenging. This is a nice combination of some dancier moves mixed in with mostly athletic-style cardio. It gave it some funk and boosted the fun level. The core section at the end is creative, and I didn't feel it at the time, but I definitely did the next day. Don't pass this one up, really worth it! - posted by Brittany W. on 3/8/2011
Wow!
Great workout...keeps you moving the whole hour...no breaks! love the music too! - posted by Judi on 2/10/2011
A GREAT WORKOUT
Amy Bento is great! This workout was just what I was looking for to compliment my other exercise routines during the week. Definitely not for beginners! Expect a good workout. Amy is very easy to understand and motivational! Enjoy! - posted by Susana on 1/30/2011
Great Hi Lo!
The best thing about this workout is the music. Amy's energy and choro is also great. I few too many pivoting moves, but they are fairly easy to modify. Since there are only 4 combos in this long workout, they can get fairly repetitious, so I just skip to the next one when I get bored. Love this workout! Ab section is a little too unique for my liking. Did not like the stretch. Some stretches were held for too long while others that should have gotten deep into the muscle were not held for too long. I just substitute my own stretch. - posted by Elise on 12/3/2010
Definitely all cardio
This is a new favorite with me. I am a dancer with high expectations when it comes to choreography and this choreography is lots of fun and holds my interest. The knockout portions are intense, especially the one with the burpees. I felt that the warm-up was thorough and the music was fantastic. I would recommend this tape to exercisers who are fit and looking for something fun and challenging. - posted by Bonnie on 12/2/2010
Really is a "Knockout"
This is a challenging, but very worthwhile workout. My biggest complaint is that it is very hard to follow the first few times through. There are quite a few challenging moves and not much cueing to help ahead of the moves. With time, I'm sure it will be a lot easier. The level - and the ensuing sweating - make it all worth it, though. - posted by Angie on 11/11/2010
FUN! FUN! FUN!
This is such a fun workout. I bought it after looking at the video clip several times and it just looked fun, and boy this workout did not disappoint. The choreography just like it says in the description is moderate but was a little difficult in some areas. It was much easier in my opinion to catch on to than her hi/lo extreme and much more fun. I am an advanced exerciser, 32 years old (wow)lol.... and this workout had me sweaty, sweaty, sweaty. It was so fun to me that I hardly noticed I was about dying when I got to the end.....lol. But if u want something with the fun factor, then I would say go for it, b/c it is fun and it is a great workout. Had my heart pumping. highly recommended. - posted by mrsyancy on 10/20/2010
This is Great
I've been waiting for a great advanced low impact cardio video and this is it. There are a few high impact moves but obviously you can do the low impact version. It took me a couple of times to learn all the combinations but it is much easier to follow than Amy's step videos...The cardio section of the video is very long, though. And the weights are part of the abs section, which is very good.....All in all, this video would be a wonderful addition 2 anyone's library.. You can mix it up with your step, kickboxing and weight videos. She does do some kickboxing moves which she calls knockout moves.....Amy, you did it again...Thanks. - posted by Janice on 10/14/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
