Time graph for Amy Bento's All Cardio Hi-Low Knockout
Amy Bento combines aerobic favorites with higher-intensity bootcamp and kickboxing moves. It’s a non-stop fat-burner designed to keep you physically challenged. Each combo starts with familiar, large muscle-group moves like repeaters, jogs, jumping jacks and kick ball changes (often intensified with overhead arm motions). That’s followed by explosive bursts of bootcamp and kickboxing — squat thrusts, jump lunges, side kicks and “double front kicks.” But no slowing down; then you’re on to the next combo. It’s all driven by Amy’s contagious energy and great pop-hits music (e.g. “Buttons,” “Truly, Madly, Deeply” and “Go Your Own Way”). Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2008. DVD has: 4 premixes (44-64 min), Chapter menus.

Amy Bento's All Cardio Hi-Low Knockout

Great
I am a 55-yr old klutz, but do enjoy Amy Bento DVD's. This one is fast and complicated and long enough. I've tried it 3 times and almost have all of the steps down. Even if you can't follow the choreography, just the attempt to keep up with the movements will give you a great workout. - posted by Agnes on 8/12/2010
enjoyed
I really enjoyed this one. I am very advanced stepping, kickbox, ect. I hate areobics i have two left feet when it comes to the floor stuff. But this dvd i got on the first try. Yes she is very very fast in this one, but i kept up and really did not find it that hard. I highly recommend alot of fun - posted by sally on 7/26/2010
I love this workout!
Amy Bento's workouts always get you sweating. This not only accomplishes that, but it's really fun. The music is awesome and the workouts just go from one to the next, without pause. - posted by Davii on 7/22/2010
Perfect
This workout is amazing. Amy is perfect by keeping you upbeat and always ready for the next move. Anyone who can keep up with advanced aerobics I highly recommend this workout. The core section at the end is great too. She uses weights with some pilates moves it's perfect. My whole head is wet by the end of this workout, and that's important to me so I know I burned all those calories. Thank you Amy. - posted by Heather on 7/1/2010
Too complicated
I am by no means a klutz. I've done The Firm, Kelley Coffey-Meyer, etc. But the combinations/choreography in this workout are ridiculous. What could have been a good workout was ruined by this instructor trying to be "different". I've got 3 words for Amy Bento: keep it simple. - posted by Fran on 6/20/2010
This is great workout!
I love this DVD. I wanted a long-burning, sweat-drenching cardio challenge and this is definitely it. It has great music and fun, creative choreography. - posted by Kumiko on 6/18/2010
not so great
While I really like Amy Bento's personality, this DVD just moves too fast with choreography. There is very little cueing so I felt very frustrated. This went on for a while. I'd like to think that over time you would get the choreography down but I didn't want to wait till then so I returned it. - posted by mia on 6/17/2010
I love, love, love this workout!
I've had this DVD for about six months, and I never get tired of it. I nearly didn't buy it because I'm not that into kick-boxing. When I got it, I found that it's more aerobics with four kick-boxing intervals after each of the four aerobic intervals. I've been working out for 20 years, and this is the workout that I turn to when I really want to work hard and feel great. The music is awesome, which makes the time go fast. And I really like the kick-boxing intervals. Because they're short they're fun, even though you're working hard. This really makes me feel like I've given my all when I'm done, and the aerobics have enough of a variety of moves so they don't get boring even after the 40th time I've done it. The best video I've ever had, and I've had hundreds over the years! - posted by Joan on 4/21/2010
Way too fast and complicated
I am in extremely good shape and love to do workout videos at home. I was disappointed in this workout because I really like a challenge and this seemed like a challenging workout. What I didn't like about this workout is it is very aerobic oriented. Unless you are a master at complicated aerobic moves, then this workout is not for you. Amy just immediately jumps into the workout at breakneck speed (yes, literally) and this pace continues throughout the entire video. Although this is probably an effective way to workout, I feel like I get just as good of a workout in something like Jillian Michaels workouts where she takes time to explain the move, then do the move, then take brief rest. I just see no reason why Amy is in such a hurry in this workout. She could have really maximized results if she would have slowed down a bit and explained what she is doing. I will not be adding this video to my workout rotation. - posted by AJ on 3/8/2010
This one is fun !
What a great workout this is, the music is awesome, the combos are not too hard to learn and the intensity and energy are way up there. This is the one I keep coming back to for a surefire cardio blast that is above all fun. I am in absolute awe of Amy and the other two ladies as they effortlessly breeze through knockout two. Amy Bento is a great instructor and I hope she makes more like this. - posted by Maria on 3/8/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
