Certified instructor description: “Low Impact and Stretch,” “Abs, Buns & Thighs” and “Total Body Sculpting” — three 1995 videos now available on one DVD. The “Low Impact and Stretch” program begins with a series of very easy-to-follow aerobic favorites (e.g. grapevines, shuffles, step-touches and taps). That’s followed by an extended stretch segment that emphasizes breathing, relaxation and balance. “Abs, Buns and Thighs” has two compact aero/tone interval workouts - they intermix short cardio segments with standing toning routines. Its aerobics feature more aerobic favorites, while the toning ranges from classic squats and lunges to more unique moves like “triple pulse squat with a side leg extension.” The “Total Body Sculpting” program has two complete muscle toning workouts. You get a huge variety of proven exercises like push-ups, squats, curls, military presses and calf raises (often showing more intense variations in corner-of-the-screen insets). These two toning workouts requires 2 to 10 lb. dumbbells and 2 to 5 lb. ankle weights. In all the programs, Jane leads the toning and stretch sections while her assistants lead the aerobics portions. ©1995. DVD has: Region 1.

Jane Fonda's Complete Personal Trainer Series

Fun and effective
Jane Fonda is the best in the workout business. I have done lots of exercise videos and always come back to Jane. Many of the "newer" models use the same exercises/routines as Jane but call them different names. She keeps you motivated and talks you through every move so you do it correctly. I'm 53 years old and I rely on Jane to keep me fit. I incorporate other exercise videos into my week to keep a good mix but Jane Fonda is still the "godmother" of exercise divas! - posted by Lana on 5/20/2010
GREAT GREAT VIDEO!!, BUT.............
I had first ordered this video a few months ago, and had used it regularly for a while until mysteriously, it stopped working with my computer.. all my other exercise dvds worked perfectly fine, but this one could no longer be "read" by the dvd player.... I ordered it again from collage (I reeeeallly loved it indeed..) but it only played once :(( I am extremely careful with my electronic devices and DVDs.. I can't explain why THIS DVD does not want to work anymore.. (that's why I knocked a star off) I highly recommend the content of it though!!It has done a great job toning me up, without being too rough.. the steps for the aerobic section and cardio are very simple. you can really get a thorough workout upon its fisrt use. By far one of my favorite! - posted by Sophie on 5/20/2010
Chatty and annoying
I bought this video based on the other ratings and I was disappointed. It was a bit fun to see the 80's style workout wear but in the aerobics workout I find myself annoyed with the one overactor, I think she is working harder at being noticed that working out. Can't tell you about the toning portion, after listening to Jane yak for at least 6 minutes I changed the DVD. If you like chatty and over dancy you'll love this video. - posted by Pamela on 4/22/2010
Love this Workout
I am 59 years old and starting back on the exercise trail. I used Jane Fonda's exercise tapes 30 years ago to loose baby fat. It was fun then and it is fun now. I lost 40 lbs the first time and know I will loose lots this time (this time for health reasons). Jane's video's are very well choreographed and lots of fun. I feel like I am dancing not working out. I do it in the morning and it gives my a day a wonderful start. Another great video is the Complete Workout. Works upper body one day and lower the next. It is great fun to dance along to the music while having a great workout. - posted by Wendy on 6/27/2008
Jane Fonda Delivers
The two toning only workouts are terrific!Jane doesn't use any thing fancy, just the classic exercise moves we know and love. I love the way she uses about three moves in intervals at a time, it allows your muscles to rest a little for maximum effectiveness - posted by Emily on 11/16/2007
The best exercise tapes ever
I've been doing this series since it came out in 1995 (now I'm buying it on DVD). I have not found anything better in terms of a great, effective all around exercise program, especially the toning. - posted by Lin on 8/21/2007
Simple But Effective
I usually do both strength segments together, all in all you'll get about 30 minutes of strength add that to the 15 minute stretch and you have a complete workout. She does 2 sets of 12 reps and works all the major muscle groups. I have so few workouts that incorprate ankle weights as well. It is more beginner/intermediate as she does explain form and what muscles your working, but very friendly.I cannot comment on the aero/tone segments, I have previewed them and they just don't look like my cup of tea, but everyone is different. I will keep the strength and stretch in my rotation. - posted by MJ on 7/26/2007
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
