Time graph for Core Cross Train Kickbox
Expertly led by Patricia Moreno, each move has a subtle intensity and quiet effectiveness. You’ll burn mega-calories as you increase balance, strength and grace. Every motion really does originate from your center (e.g. a punch isn’t just a flailing arm; it’s a core-based movement that’s both powerful and purposeful). The workouts become progressively more challenging. The first one is basic punches; the last one is “choreographed” kickboxing combos (all taught add-on style so the sequencing is natural and easy to follow). It’s filmed outdoors in the high desert of Arizona. DVD also has a bonus 14-minute toning/stretch workout. ©2007. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Core Cross Train Kickbox

I love this DVD.
I hate to work my abs from the floor. I love this DVD. Standing ab work at it's finest. I was wanting to get into kickboxing DVDs and didn't want to dive right into Amy Bento or Cathe until my body got used to the movement of kickboxing. I read all the reviews and chose this DVD because of it's intermediate rating combined with the comments regarding form and instruction. I actually like the slow start and will utilize that aspect on days that I need a workout but don't necessarily want one. I know Patricia takes a little bit to set up for the next phase, but I use that time to get some water or do an extra rep or 2. This is a good cardio rush for people who don't have much space. The more umph you give it the more your body will benefit. I also used single pound wrist weights for the duration of the work out. I think it helps with the sweat factor. - posted by Jessica on 8/4/2008
Amazing
This workout is intense and zero impact. Plus, it strengthens important functional muscles. It reminds me of how you can do tons of plies and never sweat, but when you really do them right, you sweat buckets. Enjoy! - posted by Jen on 8/3/2008
Like it...but...
I did like this workout but the exercisers all wore brown which kind of blended in with the scenery and made it look pretty drab. They should have worn white or something light so you could appreciate the background scenery. That being said...the workout itself was good and I got a lot out of it, her cuing was great and she's a wonderful instructor...I'm glad I bought this! - posted by Sue on 8/2/2008
My Favorite Workout
I love this DVD. Since I purchased it about two months ago, I work out with Patricia twice a week and rotate my other ninety or so dvds/tapes. The standing core work is excellent and at forty-nine, my abs look great (thanks to Patricia). It's high intensity without high impact. She's motivating and the workout is tough. I get such a rush and satisfaction afterwards. This is my fav. I was so pleased with her instruction and motivation (and my abs), today I purchased Dance: Core Cross Train. I hope Collage Video will offer more PM videos for on-line purcahse. - posted by Casey on 7/19/2008
so bad i had to turn it off
This has to be, by far, the absolute worst dvd I have ever done. I barely broke a sweat and I didn't think it was kickboxing oriented. There was no continuity, and I had to turn it off. Not good. - posted by maria on 7/18/2008
CORE and more...
I love love love this video. I think anyone with a fitness video library needs this disc in their collection. Patricia Moreno is exceptionally motivating and genuine. The moves are focused and controlled. You get back everything you put into this video. I have also found that I get more out of my OTHER kickboxing videos, by using the precise techniques learned in this video. Fans of Amy Bento? There's no jumping, bouncing,or spinning here - but the sweat still flows freely. This is not cardio kickboxing...if you want choreographed aerobics go elsewhere. Think of this as "batting practice" - just part of your training - and remember - even the pros still practice the basics!! Highly recommended! - posted by Melissa on 7/11/2008
Enough with the Alignment!
I am an aerobics instructor and love to teach kickboxing. I liked the idea of working core and after reading the other reviews decided to give this one a try. Unfortunately I am mailing it back. I found her constant re-alignment to be very disruptive and never could achieve any type of rhythm. And I thought she didn't cue with the music which made you feel even more out of balance. I did like her leg section - very tough and she didn't tuck her glutes every other minute! - posted by Mary on 7/3/2008
Best Kickbox DVD Ever!
This DVD really teaches you proper form and control so that you can get the most out of your fitness time. Before doing this DVD, I did not punch or kick properly, and often lost my balance. Other DVD instructors do not teach correct form or focus with the moves, so I had been just imitating what I saw them doing. Patricia teaches you how to throw proper punches and kicks so that you not ony keep your balance, but she also motivates you to work hard and build up a good sweat! This DVD is one of my repertoire favorites, and I recommend it highly. You will get a great balanced workout and develop your core strength. - posted by Diane on 6/27/2008
Powerful
Very good workout for me. I am trying to rid some upper body/core fat. Sore the next day, especially in the core region. My only issue is not having enough leg movement in the punches, core segments (but I guess its just focused on those areas). But after doing the first 2 segments, I had to workout my legs. I was drenched in sweat. Overall, I know this is one of the best workouts Ive done for my upper body/core. - posted by Kim on 6/25/2008
Kickboxing Blast
I have been doing this workout for a few weeks and have really noticed a difference in my strength. A lot of people have made comments about it being too easy. I just do not believe anyone doing this workout properly would write this comment. It is slower paced, but the strength building and training aspect of it is amazing. Do not hesitate to purchase this workout. It is really amazing. - posted by Nadine on 6/25/2008

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
