Time graph for Core Secrets Accelerated Training Camp
Gunnar Peterson’s unique “functional strength” exercises build the muscles you need for everyday activities. This program adds variety to his usual routines by doing the first segment with just dumbbells (a stability ball is only used in the second half). Both segments feature an ever-changing mixture of proven standing and floor exercises. Each series is done twice — with instruction and again at a faster-pace. Throughout, you get Gunnar’s renowned “no-fluff” cuing and careful focus on technique. He uses weights and very large range-of-motion exercises to make “real life” tasks easier (e.g. his lateral raise movements are higher than normal because, in real life, you often have to reach to high levels). Requires 2 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2005.

Core Secrets Accelerated Training Camp

great video
Great video, he doesn't go too fast, and only 2 gals in the back so its not too busy too watch....i just wish he could do more of each set or more reps, you do feel it the next day...good for beginner workout, not intermediate. - posted by Kimber on 8/9/2007

Good workout
It's a solid workout. Mostly targeting upper body. The different moves and techniques keeps me interested. This is more for intermediate exercisers. it certainly challenges me when you up the weights! Gunnar is a great instructor. I enjoy most of his videos. - posted by Irene on 8/19/2006
I loved this!
This is my favorite Gunnar workout. The workout goes by so fast...the moves are not that challenging but very effective!! I would recommend this workout. - posted by Kristin on 5/1/2006
more for beginners
There were no prolonged ab segments, which i guess is what I was really expecting. It was relatively easy. The dvd says it's all about targeting your trouble spots and really about the only spot it targeted was my triceps and shoulders. So yeah that's okay but it wasn't anything that impressive for an upper body workout. Then as far as legs he did some neat squats and lunges but nothing too difficult. When he said the workout was finished, I was really surprised. I mean there was maybe one triceps move that was beyond my level and maybe one ab move that was quite challenging, but it wasn't like this was some hard-core dvd that I could really work up to and get an amazing workout from. I realize I probably compare a lot of dvds against my 'i want that body' series and maybe that's not a good idea. but i have had those videos for a long time and i think they are effective and strenuous and challenging and they do it in a short amount of time. In his defense my chest is sore from push-ups on the floor and push-ups with your hands on the ball. - posted by Alexandra on 4/11/2006
I Needed This!
This is the first DVD by Gunnar Peterson I've used, and I love it. The moves are simple but very effective, and I really like his style of instruction. He's down to earth, not arrogant or annoying, and explains everything well. I liked this one so much I ordered the Ab Assault/Bun Battle set, but I haven't tackled it yet - although I'm actually looking forward to it! I'm sure I'll be buying more Core Secrets DVDs. - posted by Pam on 2/27/2006
Excellent Workout
this is an excellent workout - you do all exercises 2 times through, which gives extra emphasis. I like his style of teaching - he does the routine with you. Highly recommend. - posted by Kim on 5/9/2005
A nice addition
I was very pleased with this DVD. This is the only one I ordered from the new set, but I think I may go back and order the other ones. It was definately more challanging than his original workouts, yet it was still doable. He put in some exercises that I had never seen before. I really enjoyed this workout. - posted by Sarah on 3/14/2005
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
