Time graph for Crunch: Belly, Butt & Thighs Bootcamp

Easy-to-follow aero/tone intervals shown at four progressively more challenging variations. You’ll reshape your body with a varied medley of straight-to-the-point, athletic-style exercises (no fancy dance steps, no tricky body-sculpting routines). Both the cardio and toning exercises show one “base” move plus three intensified variations. It’s a great motivational technique — you can really push yourself, knowing you can back off to an easier level if you get tired (one exerciser always demonstrates the base move). Teri Ann Krefting is friendly and energetic; she — and her class — are obviously enjoying themselves. ©2007. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Solid workout
I didn't expect this to have cardio/sculpt intervals and I was pleasantly surprised. I've done this one with my mom and we both enjoyed it. The ab section didn't challenge me, but it was varied & fun and difficult for my mom. The background exercisers didn't bother me at all, I didn't notice them. Kathy Smith style whooping and hollering really bothers me too. This DVD is perfect for beginners and nice for int or adv on an off day or for a change of pace. - posted by Rebecca on 8/5/2008
Great Workout!!
Wow! This is a great workout. It is a combination of cardio and toning. Lots of dips and lunges for the hips and backside. It also has a short section for the abs as well. This is interspersed with cardio blasts which really get your heart pumping. I was really sweating after this workout. It's lots of fun and the instructor is great. She's really good at letting you know what you will be doing next. I was able to follow along the first time through. I will definitely be doing this one again. - posted by Laurie on 7/12/2008
Fun!
I really enjoyed this workout. Good workout and not hard to follow. Great cast and crew. It is a feel good video. I am intermediate level. - posted by Christy on 6/12/2008
I never sweat so much!
What an awesome workout. Really got me going. Love the bootcamp style as well. Can't wait to try other Crunch dvds. - posted by vegasmellie on 5/14/2008
Good Lower Body Workout
This is a well-cued, fun, effective and not so time-consuming workout. I was new to the instructor and am always grateful to open a new dvd and be well-cued. I like the interval styled layout so your are getting effective bursts of cardio & toning activities versus a dreadful multitude of the same movements at one time. Not exactly a hard core boot-camp but yet great for a moderate workout when you don't have an hour or more. This would also be a nice workout the day after a hard upper body workout when your arms & shoulders need a day of rest. I was surprised to see that no weights were utilized but I still liked this one because its focus is exactly what the title says. I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 because it's catagorized as total body when little attention ( ei. push up series) was given to upper body. - posted by Nancy on 4/6/2008
Not impressed
From all the good reviews I really expected a good workout video, NOT! First of all it is way to noisy like the other reviewer said. As I was working out I couldn't understand all the hollering in the background, what a distraction. The workout it self was not very good and the instructor is boring. I workout on a consistent basis and was looking for something different, but this was not it. I will be sending this one back. I didn't feel as if I had a workout at all with this video. The movements in this video just didn't do anything at all for me. - posted by Vikki on 3/20/2008
Great for all "Levels"
This dvd really works your belly, butt and thighs. The best part is that there are 4 levels for anyone to keep up with. Whether your 18 or 80 if your physically ready to workout and tone up your lower body, this is the workout for you! - posted by Lisa on 3/11/2008
Great Workout!
I just started back exercising and like most women would like to concentrate on my stomach, butt and thighs.. When I first started this video I couldn't do the whole thing the first few times, now I can. It's easy to follow, the instructor is GREAT and it DEFINITELY works where it says it does...The stomach part seemed a little easy for me but anyone who feels that way can always do more reps! :-) - posted by Chris on 2/20/2008
Too noisy!
Have only previewed it, but though the moves look terrific, the hootin' n' hollering' background exercisers drove me crazy. So it's a 'no go' for me. - posted by Claire on 1/31/2008
I really liked it
This was a really good exercise, I'm a begin/intermediate going into intermediate alone (if I just keep up my workouts, lol). Anyway, The instructors direction is very good I was able to keep up because before she would get into each workout she would do it slowly 2x and then we go straight into the workout, and that's important for me. In the end her cueing was great, she's not annoying, and by the end of the day my butt and thighs muscles felt sore (in a good way) more than my stomache. So, all n' all I really like it! Soo, try it! - posted by Judy on 1/17/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
