Time graph for Crunch: Cardio Salsa

Sensuous, non-stop Latin dance moves energized by a motivating, on-stage drummer. You’ll burn fat as you move to a fast-paced variety of different Latin steps — from classic merengue to “salsa funk.” Giselle Roque de Escobar who co-taught the “Zumba” videos, makes it surprisingly easy to follow with her clear cuing and consistent breakdown of each combo. You’ll begin with the basics, then add arms, maybe some turns, a few tempo variations and finally some sexy hip movements (hey, even if you miss a couple steps, the motivating drum beat will carry you through to the next move). You also get bright costumes and a colorful set, which just add to the vitality and excitement. ©2003. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Crunch: Cardio Salsa

Great intro to latin dancing, non intimidating
I bought this DVD several years ago, haven't done it for years but tried it today and really enjoyed it! Giselle's cueing is excellent and she goes through each move multiple times. She breaks down the steps so even those of us with two left feet can do it! The music is good, the mood is up beat and she's very encouraging. Doing this DVD will make other salsa moves easier in other DVD's. The section before the Latin Funk's choreography to me was difficult and it was difficult to do on carpet. There were also several other moves that were hard to do on carpet depending on how thick it is. Can't say that my heart rate got up there, but this was so much fun to do on an off/don't feel great day that it's worth adding to your rotation, even it is just occasionally. - posted by Emma on 7/15/2008
Fun Basic Aerobics
The moves are basic and fun. A refreshing break from the typical grinding techno aerobics video. If you want to pump up the intensity, just add wrist and ankle weights or additional chacha's and arms moves. Enjoy! - posted by Skinny Minnie on 7/3/2008
Giselle's the Greatest
I love her energy and personality! You will work up a sweat with this video. In response to some of the other reviews that says it's basic or they don't feel like they've worked out: you have to DANCE. You should get into your moves like you're in the salsa club on the dance floor. You will lose inches! - posted by Monique on 4/1/2008
what a joke
This video offers no challenge whatsoever. The choreography is extremely basic and I didn't work up a sweat. It also doesn't help when the instructor is annoying. - posted by Michelle on 3/28/2008
This is REAL salsa!
Great video for either a quick warmuup (each segement only about 5 mins) or a real workout doing them all. This video contains several Latin dance styles which is not only educational but makes the exercise diverse in speed and movement. I've bought many a video from Collage but this video was the first one that encouraged me to write a review! - posted by KP on 1/18/2008
Not for the beginner or if you're really overweight
I got this video because of all the great reviews, but I'm not a huge fan. The choreography's a little too tough for me, and I can't work it as hard as I'd like. Also, there's a whole section which is more high than low impact, which is difficult for me as a very overweight (but not beginner) exerciser I'm going to keep it around, and see if it becomes a more effective workout as I drop some weight. But I much prefer Kathy Smith's Latin workout to this one. - posted by Paulette on 12/26/2007
SALSA SENSATION!
I own a huge collection of dance DVD, but this one tops the list. The steps are fun and easy to follow.I never fail to sweat by the end of it!You'll never notice the time as you're having such fun! - posted by FAZIDAH on 12/11/2007
Dance having fun
I really had a great time doing this workout. It's easy follow and I really got sweaty. I'm looking forward to another Cardio Salsa. The best thing about keeping fit, is having fun with it. The best is combining dance with exercising, then it's a pleasure doing it, not an obligation. - posted by Snia on 10/25/2007

Really Fun!
This is such a fun workout. I love the music, the instructor and all of the Latin style moves. It was also fun to see a little guy playing the drums to keep the beat/pace of the workout. The pace is a bit fast, but that is what keeps this workout interesting and fun. I highly recommend the workout to anyone with two right feet!!!!! - posted by Emily on 3/20/2007
I like it
I could feel the workout in my opinion it does what she has set out for it to do which is give you a workout. - posted by Qwiani on 2/25/2007
