Time graph for Crunch: The Perfect Yoga Workout

Two complete yoga workouts led by a friendly, down-to-earth instructor. They both feature a medley of classic yoga poses (e.g. downward facing dog, plank, warrior, cobra, triangle and mountain pose) "Joy of Yoga" provides the improved flexibility and relaxation benefits of traditional yoga without the intimidating attitude. Sara’s unusually laid-back style makes it unusually easy to do (e.g. "if your knees are doing this, just flop them out" or "now just kinda wiggle your fingers"). Her emphasis is always on enjoying the movement, not perfecting each one. It has more energetic, upbeat music than most yoga videos. The second program, "Fat Burning Yoga," also features classic yoga moves. Sara’s solid cuing and non-mystical style makes it an effective and exceptionally yoga workout. And by helping you achieve a balanced lifestyle and a deeper body-awareness, it provides a key element in weight-loss success (but it’s really too slow to immediately burn much fat...). It ends with a short, but intense, segment of traditional ab-focused floorwork. Bright, colorful, airy set. ©1997 & 2001. Note: VHS version is only the "Fat Burning" program; it does not include "Joy of Yoga." DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option.

Crunch: The Perfect Yoga Workout

A Solid Yoga Video
I bought this recently and I must say that it is very good. The poses provide a good mixture of strength, balance and flexibility. I highly recommend this video. - posted by Marie on 8/25/2010
1st and best yoga VHS/DVD rediscovered!
I first tried the Crunch "Joy of Yoga" when I purchased it on VHS at a record store! I haven't been able to find it until now, where two Cruch yoga workouts have been combined. Both have the great Sarah Ivanhoe as the instructor. She makes the workout what it is -- easy, accessible, no-fuss yet do-able. In my opinion, "The Joy of Yoga" is a great introduction into how yoga can be beneficial. It's also challenging enough for intermediates. An oldie but a goodie! - posted by Aries on 7/29/2010
Good to mix in with other DVDs for variety
I like adding the fat burning yoga workout in to my yoga mix once a week. Admittedly I have not tried the joy of yoga workout yet, but I am sure it will work itself into my rotation as well. I mix this DVD in with the Crunch Yoga Body Scuplt DVD and the Candlelight Yoga by Sara Ivanhoe to get a good mix of stretches and poses. The fat burning routine is a great way to start out your day and wake up your body. - posted by Ellyn on 7/27/2010
Crunch: The Perfect Yoga Workout
I had this as a VHS and wore it out until it broke. Was JUST able to find this and on DVD - how nice. Couldn't wait to start it and the additional bonus workout is just as good! Love it! Budget friendly and fast shipping! I'll be back!! - posted by Tana on 5/20/2010
Great workout
I have VHS with Fat burning yoga, but was broke-up. Finally I found DVD with this exercise and I'm very happy for this. Thanks Collage Video:) - posted by Monika on 4/15/2010
Perfect Beginner Workout
The Joy of Yoga is a fantastic beginner workout- perfectly paced. Probably a little too slow for a beginning/intermediate, but Fat Burning Yoga fits that bill very nicely. I thought the variety was good and it never became repetitive, with the exception of Downward Facing Dog, but I am trying to make that pose my friend so I didn't mind. - posted by Janine on 2/24/2010
I like it
This is a good DVD. There are two choices for workouts, and they are both decent length. I find Joy of Yoga to be more challenging, which is what I like. I want to feel like I am doing something beneficial with my body not just moving around. My main pet peeve is how Sarah keeps talking about how much fat you're burning (a lot, she says). This is NOT a fat burner. If you want to burn fat do cardio or better yet do circuit training. This is more for stretching and toning for beginners to intermediates. It is a nice choice for yoga and I like that it's "non-mystical" as they say but it's not fat-burning! - posted by Melissa on 9/15/2009
Love it!
It's really hard to find good but short yoga DVD's. This one is an exception to the rule. I really like Sara, she's a natural, I feel quite well stretched after doing either of these sessions, my only gripe is the advanced yogi, it's a bit off-putting when you're struggling with a pose to be shown someone who looks like a piece of chewing gum. - posted by Kerryn on 10/2/2008
my introduction to yoga
I really liked this video. Sara Ivanhoe is a no-nonsense instructor that explains moves as you do them and makes even the novice "yogi" feel competent. There are people doing modified versions of each movement in the background. I usually stick with "Joy of Yoga" as I found the fat-burning DVD too challenging at the moment. It took me several attempts before I found my "groove" but once I familiarized with the sequences, I really enjoyed this. I do usually skip one couple-minute segment because I don't find it effective, but overall, this was a great introduction to yoga and it makes me want to search for more. - posted by alison on 4/23/2008
Understandable
I first bought this workout on VHS in 2002 when I first started practicing Yoga. I've had numberous instructors since (be it from a tape or in a class) and this remains my favorite. The VHS finally gave out and I'm ordering it on DVD. She makes it so easy, you don't even realize you're pouring sweat and breathing heavily. I love it! - posted by Janelle on 1/6/2008

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
