Denise Austin's Blast Away Indoor Walk |
Pretty Good for a moderate workout! |
| I did the full workout today and I while I can't say this will be a favorite Denise DVD, I will say that it was a pretty good workout! Her cueing isn't as "off" as other DVDs, so for some that might help as that is a common complaint. I really love Denise, but will agree that Leslie's walking DVDs are a bit more upbeat as far as pace goes. I did sweat doing this workout, especially during the last 2 miles. I would agree that mile one is more of a warmup pace, but adding some ankle weights or weighted gloves to your workout will bump up the intensity. While I am a little disappointed as I was so excited to get this in the mail, it's still a good workout. It won't be used as often as her other DVDs or Leslie's walking DVDs, but it will get some use. It's good for a change of pace and instructor. Good sweat factor, friendly instructor, good stage background. - posted by Julia on 5/1/2009 |

Nice walk for cold days |
| I enjoyed this workout! I live in an area with long winters and I love having this workout to get in a nice long walk. I do all three workouts to log 3 miles and then enjoy the 10 min. stretch afterward. I think other reviewers have been too hard on Denise. It is a walking routine after all. Sure- she's off beat at times and loses her place but so what- it makes her human. And like others said, turn up your music and follow along.I am a firm believer that you get what you put into it. Same is true for this workout. I consider myself intermediate to advanced and I still broke a bit of a sweat. It's a great option for those just starting to exercise or for those active rest days. I'm glad to have it in my collection. - posted by Meredith on 3/1/2009 |

    Great beginner walking routine |
| This is the first work out DVD I have owned and it is still my favorite. I went from a non exerciser to a moderate one. I like the weight/walking section and the ability to combine different workouts in one seamless hour or break it up us as my time allows. Over the first year my stamina and tone have increased greatly.
Denise is very encouraging. However, like a previous reviewer I now turn off the sound and put on the radio. I do this for any exercise DVD as after a couple viewings to maintain interest. - posted by Holly on 1/22/2009 |

    It's Not Bad, but... |
| While I really like Denise, I have mixed feelings about this workout. I like the walking, but can Denise get the beat of the music? At times I felt like I was on one beat and she on another. I can't stand off beat exercising! I really like the stretch at the end. I do this one, but not as much as Leslie's walking workouts. - posted by Paula on 1/12/2009 |

Wonderful way to start the day! |
| Great for a winter walk when its icy outside. I am using this to get motivated to start exercising more - and its working! For the beginner or physically challenged (I have MS) it is not too challenging to turn one off to moving around and it is varied enough to keep one interested. However after a month of daily use, I now turn off the sound and turn on music. I will definitely stay with Denise and try a few more DVDs as my progress continues, as I am very happy with my choice. - posted by Helen on 1/29/2008 |

    Definitely for lighter days |
| If you're looking for a workout that will really get your heart pumping and challenge you, this isn't the one, obviously. But I have been pleasantly surprised by how often I have put this DVD in for a quick 15-minute walk when I was either short on time or just not motivated to do anything else, and that is when I am SO glad that I have it. An indoor-walk video should be a staple for all regular exercisers, and for that purpose, this is a good choice. One plus about this DVD is that it has a 10-minute stretch at the end, which many DVDs seem to neglect. - posted by Carmen on 1/11/2008 |

    Walking workout review |
| I've done this tape twice so far and yes, I do like it. During the warmer summer months I like to walk, so this is a good alternative for those cold winter months. My favorite part is the fat-blast-interval walk because you really do sweat! Now it's not super challangeing at all but it does get the job done. - posted by Sarah on 12/27/2007 |

great workout at a low intensity pace |
| I really like this DVD and that it is broken down into 15 minute routines. You will not get a strenuous cardio workout - it's walking after all, but I love using this DVD in combination with other workouts or for those times when I am simply too tired after work,(I am a pilates instructor) to do much else or worry about more complex choreography. The first 15 minute routine can even be done pretty much just after a meal so is ideal to just burn off some of those calories... - posted by Barbara on 9/24/2007 |
