Time graph for Denise Austin's Burn Fat Fast Cardio Blast
Denise’s bubbly personality is infused into four different cardio styles — kickboxing, athletic intervals, “retro aerobics” and dance. Each 10-minute segment can be played in any order, so you can easily adapt the workout to your time and style preferences. The kickboxing routines are straight-forward and powerful. The interval section alternates harder/easier intensities (changing the impact, tempo or range of motion). Retro aerobics is non-stop fun — familiar favorites like grapevines, step-touches, ponies and “heel jacks.” The dance section is also varied — from box-step basics to slightly-more-choreographed Latin dance. As always, Denise is enthusiastic and super-motivating. ©2007. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Music only option, Region 1.

Denise Austin's Burn Fat Fast Cardio Blast

Fun and full of energy
I thought this workout was great Denise is pleasent in instructing the moves although the cuing was kind of off and the beat on the drill was off on one of the sport drills but it gave me a real good sweat. - posted by Amanda on 7/24/2008
Good Cardio Workout
I am an intermediate exerciser who does not like doing cardio. I do, however, like Denise Austin, and I enjoyed this work out very much. The reason for four stars instead of five stars is the cueing is not great, but the moves are repeated enough and are simple enough that it is easy to pick up. Also, I didn't care for the Retro Aerobics segment - too high of impact for me, so I modified. The other three segments are great. - posted by Amanda on 7/14/2008
Bad cueing and bad choreography!
This was my first Denise Austin video and WOW was I disappointed! Being new to Denise Austin, I found her a very annoying instructor (her voice sounds like she is trying to be sexy). Her cueing was terrible (even the other girls behind her made numerous mistakes) and the choreography was a mess. Her counts were never the same. I bought this video because after reading many reviews I thought Denise was a great instructor and could really take my body to the next level. That will not happen with this video. The first time I viewed it, I tried all four 10 minute sections and I knew this will not be a DVD I use a lot. The first two sections were pretty good and I worked up a little sweat, then I did the second two sections. Don't waste your time. Why do instructors think Mambo's, Grapevines and any other baby step movement will give you a good cardio workout? The last two sections were a big waste of time. The good thing about the way this DVD works is you may customize it to play whatever 10 minute interval you want. So now I play the Kickboxing section twice and the Cardio Interval twice to give me a decent 50 minute workout. If you want a great Interval Heart Pumping workout try Jillian Michaels. She makes you feel like you have a personal trainer in your home. - posted by Lynne on 7/4/2008
So much fun!
I just tried this dvd and the time flew by so fast! Denise is constantly changing moves and they are different than the routine moves in most of my work outs. The kickboxing and sports drill segements were the best...only Denise could make a boring set and horrible music fun! The warm up and cool down were the best of any dvd I have...great leg stretches and they're just the right length. Of course the cueing is bad...but if you keep doing it you'll remember. My heart rate stayed up and I had a great time...definitely 5 stars for this one!!! - posted by Trish on 6/30/2008
So much fun!
I tried this dvd for the first time today and had a blast! The time flew by and Denise kept me motivated. The kickboxing section was my favorite...and the warm up and cool down were the best I have on any of my dvds. Of course, the music is kind of blah, the set is boring, and she doesn't cue well...but who cares? If you do the dvd enough you will remember the moves. Denise is so much fun and the moves are all different and are constantly changing. I was sweating even though I hadn't even previewed the dvd yet and didn't get some of the reps in...but I can't wait to try it again and get it all down! Buy this one!!! - posted by T on 6/27/2008
not perfect, but very good
Denise cannot cue. The music is cheezy. The sets are boring. Ok, that's the bad part. The good part: a very solid well-choreographed routine that is a great cardio workout. I have done a LOT of work with theatre and public speaking in my life, and I would like to comment on why I like Denise. It is NOT the bubbly personality: it is her voice quality. She projects a very calm persona, relying on the lower register of her voice (NO SHRIEKS and whoops, like Kathy Smith) and this creates an encouraging, even soothing atmosphere. Furthermore, she repeats many stock phrases, almost like a mantra: you can do this, you're doing great, and so on. This DVD is thus excellent for cardio-haters, the timid, the out-of-shape, or anyone who needs a bit of peace and relative quiet during a workout. - posted by Bertha on 6/5/2008
Awesome dvd losing weight
This is my favorite dvd by far.. Wow my body is changing and I lost 15 pounds already from doing this dvd 4 times a week. - posted by J on 5/31/2008
Wonderfull!! Great!!
I love this dvd work out, It has everything in a short amount of time and you can mix it up to do the ones you like. Denise's Cue?..there is none..lol...She is all over the place. You got to love her..lol But once you get the moves, You'll have a good time. I would give this one a try. Each work out is 10mins, and you will sweat! And it's fun!..Lily.o Ct - posted by Lily.o on 5/24/2008
She doesn't choreograph her stuff and it shows
I have to say, I love, love Denise Austin's bubbly and always encouraging attitude but, unfortunately, she has no idea how to cue. I'm an aerobics instructor and I immediately noticed off the bat that she doesn't warn people of move changes ahead of time. Even the girls in her video seem a bit lost at times. It's a shame because this could have been a really amazing DVD. Also, what's the deal with Denise never choreographing her DVD's? I bought 2 Hit The Spot DVD's and this one and none of them have been choreographed by her. Is she just a pretty face? - posted by Jennifer on 4/23/2008
Reallly like this one
I find myself reaching for this one time after time for a little aerobic work. The different segments and Denise's encouragement keep it from being boring. - posted by Lee S. on 4/21/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
