Certified instructor description: Primarily designed for seniors, it’s a varied series of simple Tai Chi moves and yoga-style stretches. All the movements and positions are carefully selected and cued to improve balance, boost flexibility and prevent falls. The program starts with gentle stretches and then progresses into very basic Tai Chi and yoga moves. The next segment is balance-focused. Scott Cole makes it safe and effective by holding on to the back of a chair as he demos the motions. It all ends with a comforting series of seated stretch and flexibility exercises. ©2010. Discover Tai Chi for Balance and Mobility

Beginning Tai Chi
I wanted to get a head start on Tai Chi because several people I know rave about it, and because my masseuse said I needed to do more stretching. This video is great - just the right amount of time - and I loved the moves. I felt young doing this workout! I would recommend it to active older adults. - posted by Andrea on 4/27/2012
Love this DVD!
Comfortable, easy to follow and perfect for those of us beyond our 50's. So relaxing but effective, too. Very happy with this purchase. - posted by Linda on 4/19/2012
Really enjoyable
I did this for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am an intermittent exerciser and new to Tai Chi. The movements are gentle and easy to follow; very good cueing and instruction and it's just the right length. If you are looking for something strenuous you will probably want to look elsewhere, but if you want something for balance, flexibility, and stress-relief, I highly recommend this video! - posted by Anna on 4/15/2012
Best way to start the day
This DVD is great. I love doing the standing positions and really think it is the best way to start your day. Stretch your muscles and improve your balance with this easy-to-follow workout. - posted by Cindy on 3/15/2012
Great Workout - Just what I was looking for!
My husband and I are both 65 and try to be as active as possible. I was looking for a set of exercises that would also help with balance, stretching, and relaxation. This exercise video is perfect for our needs. We try to use it at least 3 times a week to start our day. - posted by Sandy on 2/26/2012

I do this program with a few other people who are in their 70s. We like the program but would have preferred that it be a little longer. - posted by hilda on 2/16/2012
Discover Tai Chi for Balance and Mobility
Soon to be 81, and not knowing anything about Tai Chi, I was a bit hesitant to invest in the video. To my surprise, I found it easy to follow from the very beginning. I especially enjoy "working" along with the student in the video, an elderly senior woman with whom I can relate at my age. I appreciate this particular video because it is not extremely time-consuming, and it fits in well anywhere during my busy day. While the movements are slow, gentle and very relaxing, I finish with a feeling of pride and I am energized. - posted by Pat on 2/6/2012

Love it
This is the first time I've tried Tai Chi and I absolutely love it. This video is extremely easy and I'm getting ready to look into something a little more advanced. I highly recommend this video especially for older adults or beginners. - posted by Debbie on 1/26/2012
great for my grandmother (and anyone that wants to relieve stress)
I purchased this DVD for my 80-year-young grandmother. She's done tai chi in the past, but it's been a while since she's had a regular routine of exercise or movement. I've done the first segment of this DVD twice with her, and while it's difficult for her to move her left arm right now, she takes breaks and resumes the segment because she WANTS to. I'm elated!! I'm grateful that Mr. Cole has created a program that eases older adults to move again, regain balance and feel GOOD. I'm certain this DVD will be a great stepping stone for her to progress to more low impact exercise and help her Type 2 Diabetes. Thank you, thank you, thank you, CollageVideo! - posted by Nicole on 1/20/2012

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.
