Certified instructor description: Gentle stretches and simple yoga postures plus a variety of hand and finger exercises. You'll reduce stress as you improve both joint and total-body flexibility. It starts with a seated warm-up -- moves ranging from soothing neck and shoulder stretches to arthritis-specific hand exercises (e.g. slowly curling and uncurling your fingers). That's followed by modified versions of classic yoga poses like Warrior, Mountain Pose and Sun Salutations. Anyone can do this program -- it has straight-forward cuing and lots of level modifications (e.g. three Warrior pose options: standing, holding the back of a chair and seated on the chair). DVD has chapters that let you play shorter workout segments that most interest you. A yoga strap is optional, but not required. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

Easy Yoga for Arthritis with Peggy Cappy

Excellent
I've Recently Been Diagnosed With Arthritis In My Lumbar Back Region & Left Hip. These Yoga Exercises Are Excellent. I Like That There Are 3 Different Modes, Regular, Standing With A Chair Or Sitting. I Alternate Doing These Along W/ Jane Fonda's New Tone & Flex. I Do Some Of The Yoga Routines In The Morning Or Evening Before I Retire. I'm Taking Mineral Supplements Instead Of Prescribed Medicine & Things Are Going Great. As Peggy & Some Of Her Students Stated, Yoga Does Help With Arthritis Pain Tremendously :-) - posted by Patricia on 4/27/2012
Excellent For Seniors W/ Arthritis
I'm 65 And Was Recently Diagnosed W/ Arthritis In Left Hip/Thigh Joint. Recently Ordered This Video (April 2012) & Along With Taking Vitamins & Herbal Supplements My Arthritis Pain Is Lessening Without Taking Prescribed Pain Medicine. The Instructions & Variations Are Excellent. I Discovered I Could Do The Standing W/ Chair Assistance Variations, Instead Of Sitting Totally, For All But One Of The Movements. One Of The Exercises Medical Professionals Suggest For Arthritis Pain Is Yoga & This Dvd Is Excellent Not Only For Seniors But For Anyone Of Any Age. I've Ordered Other Yoga Dvd's In Past Years But Never Liked Them. This One Is A "Keeper"! Love The Fact That Collage Provides Previewing Clips. The Clip Is What Sold Me On Ordering It :-). - posted by Patricia on 4/6/2012

Good options
I think this Yoga video is a good option for those with restricted movement or pain. It gives options that will work for most conditions to be able to complete the exercises. - posted by Jason on 1/27/2012

Yoga for Arthritis
Really enjoyed the thorough, slow and calming instruction from Peggy, she gives you time to pick up on the moves and do them properly. I've always felt learning Yoga should be done in a class, but this dvd is great and I'm not worried about hurting myself. Definately felt a difference in my troubled areas right after the first workout. Good way to introduce your body to yoga in a slow, mellow way. Now I can try some others by her!! - posted by Carol on 12/30/2011
Very nice workout for beginners
This is a great introduction to yoga for those with limited movement. I got it to get myself back into doing yoga. The 2nd time I did this workout I had the best night's sleep I've had in quite awhile. I am planning on sending this one on to my mother who has knee problems. I think this will be great for her! - posted by Mary Kay on 12/29/2011
Different levels good, but put me to sleep
I bought this video because I loved the different levels it showed, but I didn't realize that it would put me to sleep after a while of doing it. - posted by Sandra on 10/21/2011
please let us have more of her workouts!
I had done Peggy Cappy's yoga before. I really hope you can offer more of hers, in your website. I tried this, last night, just to try some of the segments, and ended up doing several of them! I really appreciate the 3 variations: 1 on their mat, one using the chair and one seated on the chair. Due to stress/daily work, built up stiffness, some yoga moves I simply cannot do, not without help. Peggy's yoga teaching/her soothing voice makes it a wonderful yoga dvd to do. The bonus with the testimonials of elderly people helped by yoga, is very good. If they can benefit from yoga, so can I. She is an inspiration to anyone to try yoga. - posted by vanessa on 10/17/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
