Certified instructor description: Filmed in a peaceful garden setting, it’s a flowing series of dynamic yoga poses — you’ll feel invigorated from the inside out. Ashley Turner’s thoughtful cuing encompasses both the physical and mental aspects of yoga. Sometimes she focuses on precise form (e.g. “chest two inches off the right thigh”). Other times she emphasizes a positive attitude (e.g. “what action can you take today to achieve your dreams?”). The workout starts with standing and lying positions, moves into intense abwork and ends with deep relaxation. It’s all very fluid, but also very deliberate (e.g. sit-ups: inhaling/exhaling, holding/releasing). ©2010. DVD has: Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

Work it with Yoga
This is very easy to follow and its over before you know it. It makes you sweat and I already see results from the cardio and stretching that yoga offers. - posted by Tammy on 9/15/2011
She really uses a lot of Yoga terms...
Weird title right? She really does lay the yogi speak on pretty thick. So much so that I had a hard time following without looking right at the screen & my husband turned around to see what the heck she was talking about. I found it a tad distracting. I did like some of the more athletic moves & ab work, but for me this just didn't flow as good as the other yoga videos I have. I'll use it in my rotation...just not as much as I'd hoped. - posted by Elizabeth on 4/7/2011
Exactly what I wanted
This video was recommended to me by a friend who has taught yoga. It's basic, not too intensive, yet very effective. It's perfect for my morning living room routine. - posted by Sue on 3/24/2011
Felt it in my arms the next day
I love Ashley Turner's instruction! I find her to be so calming, and I like that she gives the actual names of the poses while still describing the moves in a way that's easy for me to understand. I also really like the emphasis that she places on the mind-body connection; I find that to be very soothing. I think I have all of the Element yoga dvds, and I find this one to be the most challenging physically with the arm and ab work, but it's still very do-able. Ashley's cueing is great and she seems like an experienced teacher because she's very good at knowing what the viewer needs to know during each pose. I feel satisfied with myself at the end for completing the workout as well as very relaxed. - posted by Karen on 2/26/2011
Another good Ashley Turner DVD
She'll get the sweat going & keep your your muscles burning I love this one as much as her other ones. - posted by Hannah on 2/6/2011
Goodbye sit-ups, hello Ashley Turner
Sometimes slow is good. Ashley has me sweating throughout the vinyasas. My abs really move on the core segment. Just when you think you may cool down following abs, More standing yoga is thrown in. Stretching, strengthening, and body awareness are the keys to this fairly challenging yoga session. Sometimes I like moving slowly through the poses and holding them. If you want something that moves faster, try Yogaworks Bodyslim dvd. - posted by Mary Anne on 1/30/2011
Great!
I loved this video. I am an intermediate and was definitely challenged. I love that she includes yoga terminology and has a focus on breathing. Excellent yoga workout. I felt stretched and toned afterward but not exhausted. It gave me energy like exercise should! - posted by Lora on 1/29/2011
So Great!
Another great yoga dvd by Ashley Turner. It's somewhat challenging and really gets the kinks out. I have all the Element Yoga dvds and I just think they produce some of the best yoga dvds ever. Ashley's detailed instructions really makes you concentrate and open up and stretch just a little more. Definitely a keeper! - posted by Sandy on 1/28/2011
So-So
I bought this the second it was available, because I love the other two Ashley Turner yoga DVDs (there's a Weight Loss one, and a Relaxation/Stretch one, both Element. The Relaxation one isn't marked with her name on this site, for some reason). First, I think this is a beginner Power Yoga workout. It's not beginner as far as regular, slower yoga goes, but if you've been doing power yoga for awhile now, this is a fairly easy. I don't mind a low-key yoga workout at times, but this just seemed to drag. I was bored. I still can't give it lower than 3 stars, however, because Ashley Turner is fabulous. I like her technique, her motivational talk, the abs segment and that she includes the Breath of Fire in this. - posted by Jamie on 1/25/2011
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
