Certified instructor description: Two bootcamp-style workouts that feature basic exercises in easy-to-follow progressions. Both programs use harder/easier cardio intervals. It’s a technique that maximizes fat-burning by challenging your body, then allowing it to “recover.” Each workout has three carefully sequenced progressions. You’ll begin with athletic, gym-type moves like squat thrusts, lateral jumps and kickbox punches. Then it’s fast-paced agility drills to build coordination and stamina. You’ll end with a slightly easier, jump rope-style, “recovery” series. Veteran trainer Jade Alexis leads Brooklyn Decker through the moves (on a dramatic New York rooftop terrace). 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells are optional. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Elle: Cardio Body with Brooklyn Decker

Well Worth It
I really loved this workout. I did both workouts back to back and the time just flew by and I was drenched with sweat by the time it was over. This will become part of my regular rotation! - posted by AB44 on 5/6/2011
Great
This 30min workout made me sweat, Jade and Brooklyn helped motivate me to get back in shape. The workout is Great, and Just Kept Me Focus.. - posted by Natalie on 2/23/2011
Kind of Boring
I broke a sweat, but this video was not much fun. The music and moves just didn't really motivate me and going through the same moves with increased repetitions was boring. - posted by Joanne on 1/29/2011
Positively Awesome Workout
I have done tons of workout videos as well as worked out with personal trainers and spent plenty of hours at the gym and I must say that the two workout segements in this video rank in my top three. The format is perfect for quick and long-lasting calorie burn: warm-up than five, ten, and 15-minute intervals of three different excersises grouped together with a break in between each interval to bring the heart rate down. There is a blend of upper and lower body movements that engage the core (abs), and there is also quite a bit of jumping (excellent quick calorie burner) so get ready for that. The trainer, Jade Alexis, is a really good instructor and motivator. It really does seem as if she is personally working out with the audience instead of reading on que. I have never worked out to a celebrity DVD before, but Brooklyn Decker, just like her trainer, Jade, comes across as being very geniune throughout the workout process. This workout DVD is a blast and you will not regret it. - posted by HolyCat on 1/18/2011
A Cardio Sweat Fest
I love these two 30 minute workouts because I really sweat after 30 minutes! The cardio moves are athletic and the instructor is pleasant and motivating. Some folks here say that the workout is boring but then again, the moves are typical bootcamp and athletic cardio so you can't expect a choreographed and complex cardio workout. Since the moves are not complicated, you can easily give it your all and just max out all the moves. I'm happy with this DVD! - posted by Jenny on 1/13/2011
LIKE IT
I like this workout. It fits in line with my 30 mins or less routines. I work up a sweat; I'm winded with the 3O second jump ropes. I like the old fashioned moves (I.E. jumping jacks and mountain climbers). After the workout I then do 60 - 80 sit-ups/crunches. - posted by KAH on 12/30/2010
DISAPPOINTING.
The 2 key components I look for in workout dvds are: music & an instructor who inspires me. I can't STAND the instructor in this dvd. She doesn't make me want to workout at all with her repetitive lines and manly demeanor. I think the entire ELLE series is a bit of a joke w/ all it's hype (that doesn't deliver) and is much too expensive. SO disappointed. - posted by JT on 12/3/2010
not worth it
This was a surprisingly boring workout. The focus is entirely on Brooklyn, not the one at home actually doing the workout. Yes, "are you ready, Brooklyn?" was said repeatedly. I kept looking at the clock, waiting to be done with this workout. The cardio was sweat-inducing, but boring. There are many other really good videos at Collage to choose from. - posted by Sharon on 10/30/2010
Worthwhile workout
I found this to be a good aerobic workout, when both parts are combined together into one lasting 50 minutes. It features high impact intervals, each set featuring two different exercises, followed by two sets of jumping rope and jogging. The changing sets of exercises are repeated in reps of first 5, then 10, then 15 times; the jumping jacks and jogs are timed While the component parts of the intervals aren't overly creative, I didn't find them boring, and there is a sort of comfort level in knowing exactly what's coming next when doing intervals. While the instructor is talking between intervals, you simply keep jogging; no big deal. While she is far from the greatest instructor you'll see, I wasn't bothered by her constant requests if Decker was ready. While I was initially surprised that the warm-up started right in with jumping jacks, it's not unheard of, and if you are experienced enough to do the impact in this video, you will be able to handle it. As far as no cool down: again, you can figure it out. My biggest gripe is the music!!! Awful! It's repetitive and guitar-led rock and has no beat and was so bad that I found it distractive. But overall, for a no-nonsense interval workout, this works. - posted by Janny on 10/15/2010
Good workout but very repetitive
This workout definitely delivers the cardio as promised. There are 3 exercises in each section, a major move like squat thrusts that are repeated, a line drill (ex. jumping over an imaginary line) and jump rope. The sequence is repeated 3 times with the reps on the first one going up 5-10-15. The problem I have with it is the repetitive jump rope. The line drills are pretty much the same movement so 2/3 of this video is jumping up and down. It works but it's boring, could use some jumping jacks or high knees or some other cardio move. I probably won't use this often, just when I want a quick cardio blast. - posted by Esther on 9/29/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
