Certified instructor description: One workout focuses on flexibility and relaxation, the other on strength and balance. Both workouts are fast-paced, smooth-flowing and “athletic” (no sanskrit names or mind/body references). The first program is begin/inter-level. It features breathing and opening moves to release tension and increase flexibility. The second workout is more challenging. It combines classic yoga poses with varied muscle toning routines (e.g. planks). It also includes some tough, one-leg balance exercises. Tara Stiles is the trainer; Brooklyn Decker is her “trainee.” DVD also has two short bonus workouts. Filmed on a sunny New York City rooftop terrace. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Elle: Workout Yoga with Brooklyn Decker

The best yoga ever!
This is a great yoga DVD with the first segment focusing on flexibility and the second is a great advanced yoga workout. It included lots of new moves I've never seen before. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser and I love this yoga workout! - posted by Aimee on 8/5/2011
super motivating workout
I have always wanted to learn how to do the splits. I ordered this video because in the video preview it showed a segment where the instructors were doing the split stretch and back bends. The video did not disappoint. The 1st routine was the flexibility routine. It flows smoothly and the instructor is super motivating. The second video is a bit more challenging and if you want a low impact workout instead of weight training or aerobics, the 2nd workout is perfect. The bonus section was very generous with information about how to use the yoga block to stretch your back, motivating food and fashion ideas, and introduces a new trapeeze workout developed by Circ de Sole and Rebook that looks fun to try. Overall the video is well worth the time. I'm glad I bought it. - posted by Artistique on 6/18/2011
Different poses!
I really liked the poses in this video. It was different than the usual down dogs, knees chest chin, etc... I thought the second workout was quite advanced, something to work up to. I do agree that the voice over was way too rushed, like she thought she had to talk fast for some reason. I think it would have been better if she had just slowed down her talking. I've only done each workout once, and am hoping I don't start to find the rushed voice annoying, because I do like the moves. - posted by Jayne on 4/11/2011
Just what I was looking for
A more challenging yoga work than previous ones but not too challenging where I can't do it, lol. I enjoy this one, the break down helps me work on my level and aspire to move up, to the next level. Very good choice. - posted by Key on 4/1/2011
Mine is for Sale
I've done this dvd once and am not interested in doing again. Tara Stiles' voice is just demotivating and she does not provide enough instruction on the correct breathing and stance of the moves. Brooklyn is TRYING to do yoga like the rest of us. - posted by Whirly on 2/13/2011
loved it!! tough!!!
this has so many workouts -3 long ones and 2 short..it has many pose variations 1've never seen before and is also quite tough-the crow, plough, full headstand etc.it is a bit above my level so will have to work up to it.great bright cheery outdoor background-on a high roof top overlooking the city[new york maybe?]if you want something different and tough that works the core and balance, flexability and strength ,this is for you..it is not a feel good stretch type workout -it is a workout-definitely agree with the advanced rating.. - posted by Dulcy on 1/16/2011
Did not care for at all.
I had high hopes for this dvd. I could not even finish it. Did not care for it at all. - posted by Belle on 11/28/2010
Not For Me
I think this workout had potential, and I like the instructor. Brooklyn, however, has the worst posture I have ever seen in my life, and that just doesn't work for a yoga workout. Everytime I looked at the screen, I would notice her hunched, slumped, with her back curved. It drove me bonkers, and I felt like it was just ridiculous to have a model demonstrating moves when they could have had an actual yogi or athlete. That would have really complimented this workout. - posted by Jamie on 9/27/2010
Odd
I've done the first workout on this DVD, and while I really liked the actual moves that make up the workout, I did not at all like the voice over/instruction. It was very monotone and rushed -- reminded me of the disclaimers crammed into the end of a radio commercial. I found the instructor difficult to understand and it kind of wrecked the workout for me. Not sure if I'll do this one again. At some point I'll try the second workout and hope it's better. - posted by Marla on 9/24/2010
Definitely a Good Yoga Workout
This is an awesome yoga workout, especially session two which is the power yoga. But I was very surprised at how challenging it really is. It is NOT for beginners and low intermediates as the instructor gives no direction at all on how to do the postures. She calls them out and expects you to know them and be able to do them safely. The first session is more of a lengthening and toning but it is challenging in its own right with moves such as "wheel." The power section has crow, 2 times, dolphin, plow, shoulder stand, pose of the dancer, tree, Warrior 3, and many twists and binds. If you do not know what those moves are she does not explain them. I enjoy the workout as I am a yoga instructor so challenge is fun and I love balance work, and the whole second half or the 25 minute portion is almost all balance, but I am fatigued by the end of it. Only four stars due to lack of explanation of the poses. - posted by Lori on 9/19/2010
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
