Certified instructor description: Classic yoga poses subtly intensified with Pilates and body-sculpting techniques. You get the flexibility benefits of yoga plus the firming benefits of muscle toning. Ellen begins each series with a basic yoga pose like cobra, down dog or warrior. Then she smoothly and naturally blends in the muscle toning (e.g. a warrior evolves into a lunge; a chair pose gets some pulses; a cobra becomes a plank). It’s all fast-paced and fluid with seamless transitions (and lots of relaxing between-move stretches). Ellen’s calm, thorough cuing makes it easy to follow. Quiet instrumental music. ©2008. DVD has: Chapter menus, Narrow screen.

Ellen Barrett's Yogini Workout

Another good Studio Workout
In general, I prefer Ellen's Live series. I returned Fusion Flow and Skinny Sculpt. But, I do like Yogini and Barefoot Cardio. Yogini is challenging and the music is not bad. - posted by Jennifer on 6/8/2013
Killer
this workout leaves me DRENCHED. My core is worked in ways it never has been before. LOVE. - posted by Mary on 5/18/2013
Yogini workout
Excellent! After doing this workout you feel graceful, long and lean. Even though its a great work out you feel revived not beat up. Not boring either I actually look forward to working out with Ellen! - posted by Sue on 5/3/2013
yogini workout
I thought this workout was too hard the first time I did it, but I stuck with it and by the third time I was more familiar with the moves, although I had aching arms for the next two days. It's still a workout that will leave you sweating but you will feel like you've really accomplished something when you are finished. I now look forward to doing it. - posted by carol on 3/22/2013
Good exercises
I enjoyed this video and found it easy to follow. It gives me a chance to work many areas in a fair amount of time, not too time consuming. - posted by Deborah on 3/14/2013
GOOD WORK OUT.
enjoyed her DVD, when you want to take a break from jumping and lifting weights you will sweat. I like that she adds a little yoga. - posted by ELIZABETH on 2/24/2013
Made me sweat!
I have been doing yoga for a few years now and I love it. I was looking for something that added a little more cardio to yoga in order to get my heart pumping a sweat a bit. This video is it! Simple to follow, good direction, not too annoying, video looks a little out dated but the workout doesn't suffer from that. Basic knowledge of yoga poses helps with this video. I would definitely buy other workout's from Ellen Barret. - posted by Lauren on 2/8/2013
Great Workout
It does really tone and stretch! - posted by Sarah on 1/31/2013
More challenging, and more YOGA then expected
I love Ellen Barrett, I have 6 other DVDS of hers. I know this is classified as Yoga and it's called Yogini, but the description made me think it would be closer to "Power Fusion" or "Grace and Gusto. It's not that I did not enjoy the Yoga inspired moves, but this was much more challenging then I expected. I work out 5-6 days a week with a variety of cardio, stretch, and strength training. I felt the amount planks, cobra stretches and downward dogs were very straining on my wrists. I also agree with the reviewer that had some trouble with the jumping leg switch. I am 5'9, and this could be a height issue. I will have at it again and I hope to enjoy this as much as her other dvds in the future. - posted by Elisabeth on 1/27/2013

This video is so easy to follow I love it. You can really feel it the next day!!! awesome workout! - posted by Charlene on 1/24/2013

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
